We are progressing through several key phases on the Elizabeth Seton Children’s Young Adult Center project! Concrete footings and foundations are underway, as is work on site utilities. Some of our current efforts include installing primary and secondary electrical service and the sewer main. Underground electric and plumbing work will begin soon as well.

Overall, the Young Adult Center project remains on track, with multiple trades coordinating to ensure smooth progress.

In 2006, EW Howell Construction Group completed the Lander College for Women project for Touro University. In April 1891, EW Howell Construction Group was founded in Babylon, NY by Elmer Winfield Howell, a farmer apprentice turned carpenter, and his father-in-law, George S. Brown. Then known as Brown & Howell, the firm focused on constructing homes before eventually building fine estates on the Gold Coast of Long Island. Today, EW Howell specializes in constructing projects across a vast number of industries – healthcare, education, retail, and hospitality, to name a few – staying true to our mission of building New York.

We’d like to share a closer look at the ongoing Young Adult Center project for Elizabeth Seton Children’s! This first-of-its-kind center, located in White Plains, NY, will offer specialized care for medically fragile adults between the ages of 18 and 35. Specific features of this 96-bed facility include 24-hour skilled nursing, respiratory and medical care, therapeutic recreation, and on-site specialty clinics.

We are proud to serve as Construction Manager on this project, which is scheduled for completion in 2027. Stay tuned for future updates!

We’re thrilled to share that the recently rebuilt Wagner Park was featured in Fast Company as one of the best waterfront parks of 2025! Boasting urban flood protection elements such as an 18-foot flood wall and stormwater cistern, this park also features a community space and pavilion building for public use. We’re thrilled to share that two of our projects have been recognized in the AIA New York 2026 Design Awards! The Davis Center at the Harlem Meer, which transformed a decades-old landmark into a new recreational facility, received the Honor Award in the Architecture category. Additionally, the South Battery Park City Resilience project, designed to protect Lower Manhattan from future storms and sea-level rise, was awarded the Merit Award in the Urban Design category. For this latest , we look back at the Far Rockaway Branch Library project in Queens, NY! This impressive 18,000-square-foot, 2-story building includes a circulation and information center, meeting rooms, a business center, and dedicated sections for children, teens, and adults. The library also features a unique parallelogram curtainwall system with color gradient fritted glass, which contributes to its distinctive architectural design. Following completion, the Far Rockaway Branch Library received several accolades, including recognition in the Queens Chamber of Commerce 2025 Building Awards for New Construction – Public Buildings.
