We’re thrilled to share that the recently rebuilt Wagner Park was featured in Fast Company as one of the best waterfront parks of 2025! Boasting urban flood protection elements such as an 18-foot flood wall and stormwater cistern, this park also features a community space and pavilion building for public use. We’re thrilled to share that two of our projects have been recognized in the AIA New York 2026 Design Awards! The Davis Center at the Harlem Meer, which transformed a decades-old landmark into a new recreational facility, received the Honor Award in the Architecture category. Additionally, the South Battery Park City Resilience project, designed to protect Lower Manhattan from future storms and sea-level rise, was awarded the Merit Award in the Urban Design category. For this latest , we look back at the Far Rockaway Branch Library project in Queens, NY! This impressive 18,000-square-foot, 2-story building includes a circulation and information center, meeting rooms, a business center, and dedicated sections for children, teens, and adults. The library also features a unique parallelogram curtainwall system with color gradient fritted glass, which contributes to its distinctive architectural design. Following completion, the Far Rockaway Branch Library received several accolades, including recognition in the Queens Chamber of Commerce 2025 Building Awards for New Construction – Public Buildings.

In 2007, EW Howell Construction Group completed the 100,000-square-foot AMC Theater project in Paramus, New Jersey. We've been hard at work on the NYU Langone Health Riverhead Radiology project, following an accelerated schedule to meet our completion goal set for the middle of February. Some of our recent milestones include the completion of electrical in-wall and rough-in work, the installation and priming of door frames, as well as gas piping and electrical conduit for final connections.

With our steady progress in place, we’re well on track to reach our deadline for next month.

This past Thursday, EW Howell Construction Group hosted its yearly Holiday Party. Team members from our offices and project sites gathered to celebrate the holiday season with delicious food and beverages. Daniel Williams, President/CEO, shared a few words on such topics as recent milestones, including recently completed and started projects, as well as the importance of all departments to our organization’s success.

We also presented our annual Build Simply Award, which recognizes employees who embody our organization’s Core Values. Congratulations to this year’s recipient, Jean Semprini, Manager of Administration – Healthcare!

at EW Howell Construction Group, promoting environmental responsibility across our projects. One such example is our work on the Student Union project, completed in 2020, for Stony Brook University. This project involved a complete interior renovation and building envelope rehabilitation, comprising structural modifications and new MEP systems.

The Student Union project is LEED Silver Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), boasting features including smart breakers with scheduled lighting controls. 🍪 With the holiday season upon us, we at EW Howell Construction Group held our 2nd Annual Holiday Cookie Contest! Many of our team members excitedly took part, bringing in their cheerful confections for all to enjoy. Entries were judged on taste, festive designs, and holiday classics.

Congratulations to our first-place winner, Christine Schultz, who submitted Chocolate Mint Cookies. We’d also like to congratulate our second-place winner, Joe Gallucci, on his Ricotta Cookies with Nutella, Berry, and Pistachio Fillings. A heartfelt thank you to our talented bakers and judges, making this contest all the more special!
