Grateful for the opportunity to travel to Albany and attend a thorough briefing to prepare for advocacy as a member of the IAC. Days like this are a powerful reminder that effective lobbying starts with being informed, intentional, and united.
As we engage policymakers around the SFY 2027 budget priorities, I’m proud to help advocate for the causes and asks that matter most to individuals with disabilities and the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who make community living possible every day.
Hearing Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara speak with such passion rooted in his own experience advocating for his son was especially powerful. His message underscored the importance of ensuring individuals with disabilities have real options to continue living in their communities, surrounded by family, support, and opportunity.
