Just got lip filler? Here’s everything you need to know about aftercare to protect your results 💉✨
Lip filler doesn’t end when you leave the treatment room. How you care for your lips in the first 24–48 hours plays a HUGE role in your final outcome. Swelling, tenderness, and even minor bruising are completely normal. Your lips will go through a healing phase before settling into their final shape (usually around 10–14 days). Trust the process 💋
Here’s how to support smooth, beautiful healing:
✨ Stay upright for 4–6 hours after treatment
✨ Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging your lips unless instructed
✨ No intense workouts for 24 hours (increased blood flow = more swelling)
✨ Avoid alcohol and high-sodium foods the first day
✨ Skip saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, and excessive heat
✨ Gently ice in short intervals to reduce swelling
✨ Stay hydrated, water helps your body heal and helps to keep your lips hydrated as well
✨ Avoid excessive lip movement (yes… even kissing 💕) for 24 hours
You may notice swelling that is worse in the morning, this is normal. Sleeping slightly elevated can help. Minor asymmetry during the first few days is also common due to uneven swelling. Give your lips time to settle before judging your final results.
Proper aftercare helps:
✔️ Reduce swelling and bruising
✔️ Prevent filler migration
✔️ Promote smoother results
