This moment of thankfulness is both a reflection on what has been achieved and a promise to continue learning, growing, and embodying the values that make compassion, care & life education a force for good in the world.
Through the guidance, education and accreditation provided by the National Institute of Jewish Hospice, We now have 10 staff members that have attended a conference and have gained not only knowledge but also a deeper spiritual awareness of how to serve individuals and families with compassion rooted in Jewish tradition. The team brings back NIJH teachings to bridge the sacred and the practical, ensuring that care is delivered with sensitivity to both emotional and spiritual needs.
This achievement reflects not only a dedication to professional development of our Jewish Community Liaison/Hospice Specialists but also our Nurses, Social Workers, Rabbi, Directors, and Office administrators. We are all resources to teach end-of-life traditions with wisdom and sensitivity We are thankful for the ethical and spiritual principles that guide our acts of kindness, empathy, and responsibility within the community.

This International Volunteer Managers Day, we’re proud to recognize the incredible dedication of Veronica France (The Legacy Willow Bend), Heather Rey (The Legacy at Home), and Rivae Campo (The Legacy Midtown Park) — our volunteer leaders at The Legacy Senior Communities.

Their commitment to kindness, connection, and community shines through everything they do. From coordinating impactful programs to supporting volunteers who serve across our campuses and in homes, they lead with compassion and purpose every day.

We are so grateful for their leadership and for all that they do to support our mission and the people we serve.

Today, we honor Juneteenth — a day of freedom, reflection, and hope.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas finally received word that they were free.

Juneteenth is a reminder of how far we’ve come — and how far we still have to go. It's a time to celebrate Black culture, resilience, and the continued fight for justice and equality.

Let’s honor the past, uplift the present, and work toward a future where freedom truly means freedom for all. ✊🏾❤️💚🖤

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice are the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We also want to recognize our team members and those we support who have lost friends, family members, and loved ones in military service. You have our deepest gratitude, now and always.

As we reflect today, may we carry forward the legacy of those who served and support those who carry their memory in their hearts. 💙❤️
