Parents of young kids are exhausted.
Having to stay in fight/ flight mode for your family, health, children’s sanity, and livelihood creates a trauma response. We’re really good at rallying in a crisis, and it not turning into trauma… as long as it’s resolved quickly—this feels like it’s never going to be over.
Mothers especially, have born that weight of having to do everything, from schooling, to working from home, to navigating childcare issues…Some if you have given up careers you loved and the financially stability that comes with it (including the ability to leave toxic or abusive relationships, whether they’re from a partner or family or orgin that you’re now more dependent on than ever…)
You’re not crazy—you’re just bone tired.
