* What does an appointment look like?

I am glad you asked. I am located in room 130 at Caddo Offices Reimagined North Plano. If the door is open, we can start the conversation about your appointment. If it is closed, please wait in the atrium until I am able to meet you and take you back to the room. Once in the room we will discuss the appointment. Common questions I ask but are not limited to: What areas need extra attention? Where is the pain? Have you had any surgeries? What health condition do you have? Any autoimmune conditions? Any areas to avoid? Etc.
I will explain how to position yourself on the table and ask if you have any questions. Once those have been answered, I will step out to let you get ready and wash my hands. When I get back to the room, I will knock before I enter. The service will start working through the areas we discussed for the time scheduled. If anything changes, please let me know. Your comfort and trust is important in the professional relationship. Once the service has been completed, I will step out to wash my hands. This time allows you to get dressed and ready to take on the rest of your day. When you are ready, open the door so I know to come back inside the room. We will complete payment at that time. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. We will then get the next appointment booked. I will wish you a great day.

* What if I want quiet? Or need to be connected?

We’ve all been overwhelmed by making conversation. Once the appointment has started, we can talk or not talk however much you want to. Some of my clients really want to unplug, so we don’t talk other than minimal questions about the massage. I am never offended if you ask for quiet, even if we have been talking.
The office is a place for silenced cellphones. However, we have all needed to stay touch at one point or another. If you need your phone close for a new baby, elderly parents, or other things, please let me know so I can help keep an eye on it.

* How does one dress or undress for massage? What exactly does comfort level actually mean?

Short answer: dress or undress however you want to make you most comfortable.

Longer answer: I am happy to honor any modesty standards you may have, whether it is personal or religious. Please be under the sheet and blanket. If the area of focus is neck, please don’t have a heavy necklace that doesn’t come off for the appointment. If the area of focus is low back and you choose to leave your pants on. Great, please take off the belt. If the area of focus is the back, please take off the bra or have a bra that can open in the back. Sports bras are harder to work through. Whatever makes you comfortable is great. If any item of clothing is taken off, please be under the sheet and blanket. Whatever is not being worked on, will be covered. Q: If I am not comfortable with something, should I say anything?

A: Yes, please do. Is the table too warm or you are cold? Please speak up. Feel like your feet are trapped under the blanket? Don’t suffer in silence, tell me. Neck or shoulders not comfortable on the table? I have different props or positions to make you more comfortable. Need it darker, brighter? Just ask. This is your massage, its purpose is to make you feel better, almost everything can be changed. Importantly if you want a quiet massage, tell me. If you want to talk because nerves, you can ask for that too.

Q: If I am not comfortable with how something is being worked or how it’s being worked, should I say anything?

A: Yes, please do. At the beginning of the session, we will talk over areas to work and avoid. I do listen and hear what to work on and avoid. Sometimes the area that needs work because it is painful have other areas of the body that need work too. If the pressure is too much or too little, let me know. I want to keep you comfortable and be able to work on your pain still. Speaking up can be hard in these situations, so waving a hand, tapping, or saying something can all be used to get my attention so we can talk about it as needed. I would rather talk about whatever is bothering you and have you feeling comfortable, than leave you unsure.
