Client came in with right lower back pain. He has been dealing with it for 2 years. Initial tests showed issues with his hip flexors. Pictures showed compression on the right lower back, elevated left shoulder, and his torso leaning to his right. After one session, his body was finding neutral. Now we have to work on finding the correct posture with correct movements and keep it there.
클라이언트가 오른쪽 허리 통증으로 왔다. 2년동안 가지고있던 통증인데 왜아픈지 몰라서 여기저기 다니다 왔다. 테스트결과 앞쪽 힙 플랙서가 문제를 이르켰고 사진으로 봤을땐 오른쪽 허리는 압축이 되어있고 상체는 오른쪽으로 기울어있고 그리고 왼쪽 어깨가 많이 올라가 있었다. 처음 세션 이후 몸이 바른자세를 향해 다시 가고 있었다. 이제는 자세교정을 위해 바른 자세와 바른 움직임을 위해 노력해야한다.

Before Pilates, I used to feel everything on my upper traps and neck when doing a plank. I knew it was a core exercise but I didn't feel it in my core. Since Pilates, I know we have to keep our powerhouse engaged. Shoulders down and anchored, lower abs pulled in, glutes engaged, heels up, head in line with spine, and lengthened spine. Didn't realize so many muscles were working to create such a powerful exercise. Keep all the connections and then onto dynamic core challenge exercises like pushup, pike, shoulder taps...How does your plank look?

필라테스를 하기전 플랭크를 할때마다 그리고 하고나서 목이랑 어깨가 너무 아펐다. 코어 운동이었는데 코어가 도대체 어디있는지 느껴지지가 않았다. 필라테스를 하고나서 파워하우스를 찾는법 그리고 드디어 코어에 힘이 들어가는게 느껴졌다. 어깨고정, 아랫배 힘, 엉덩이 힘, 발꿈치 위로, 머리는 척추와 일자, 그리고 가장 중요한 척추 길게 늘리기. 플랭크 하나 하는데 신경쓸게 이렇게 많다니..힘들어 죽겄네.

Why is it so hard to keep a good posture? What is good posture? I always thought standing up straight was good posture but what is standing up straight? This is a pic of me 10 years ago with rounded shoulders, forward head, standing on one leg...and so much more. I grew up with knee pain, fragile ankles, back spasms, neck and shoulder pain... I let gravity win my body over me..I needed more control of my body. Are you suffering from any of the above? I will start posting on how to start taking control over your own body!

바른자세가 뭘까? 왜이렇게 바른자세를 유지하기가 힘들까? 똑바로 서! 똑바로 앉아! 라는말은 많이 들었지만 어떻게 똑바로 스고 똑바로 앉으라는말은 못들은거같다. 이사진은 10년전 나의모습. 어깨가 많이 앞으로 와있고 거북목에다가 짝다리를 하고있는 나...어렸을때부터 무릎다치고 매주 발목 삐고 허리 다치고 목이랑 어깨뭉치는건 하루이틀이 아니었는데..중력이 나보다 내 몸을 더 컨트롤 하고 있다는걸 필라테스를 통해 알았다. 나같이 아픈사람들 있으면 손! 이제부터 하나하나씩 어떻게 하면 내 몸을 내가 더 잘 컨트롤 할수 있을지 알아볼까요? 궈궈!

How do you win against gravity? Simple answer is you use your muscles. Not so simple answer is use your core to stablize and find the center so your body knows how to distribute the weight force properly. Your core plays a big role in providing a safe environment for your spine. So the next big question is...what and where is your core? Many people think it's just your abdominals but there are many other stablizers and power muscles that contribute to the whole core. I like to think of it as your core acts to resist movement to give you better stability. If you have a weak core and you try to make a movement, your body mechanics wont be so happy. You are more vulnerable to injuries resulting in possible pain. When your core is strong, you will have a better time finding good posture. Let's all find that nice posture, shall we?
중력을 이기는 방법은 뭘까? 간단하게 생각한다면 우리의 근육을 쓰는것. 좀 어렵게 생각한다면 코어를 써서 몸에 안정감을 주고 몸의 중심을 찾아서 균형을 잘 찾아주는것. 코어는 우리의 척추를 건강하게 보관해주는 역활을 한다. 그렇다면...코어는 무엇이고 어디에 있을까? 많은 사람들이 단순하게 배근육이라고 생각을 하지만 배 외의 다른 근육들이 코어에 큰 역활을 한다. 움직임을 안정하게 저항할수있는 힘이 코어라고 생각한다. 코어가 약한 사람이 움직임을 줄때 몸이 잘 움직일수있는 패턴에서 벗어날수 있기때문에 다치거나 아플수가 있다. 코어가 강하면 바른자세를 찾는데도 도움이 많이 된다. 우리 다같이 바른 자세를 찾아보자!

Which posture describes you when you use your phone? I personally love to be in the bottom left posture because you get to relax and let gravity win. But afterwards, I feel the pain in my neck and shoulders - especially between my shoulder blades. More you bring your head in an forward angle, more weight your neck has to support resulting in stiffness and pain. But who really uses their phone like the picture in the bottom right? It's hard to find that position but when you do, you feel your core working to support your upper body. How awesome would it be to work your core while you use your phone? Oh yea~
우리가 전화기를 볼때 가장 많이 있는 자세는? 개인적으로 믿에 왼쪽 사진을 좋아하지만 그 자세를 유지하다가 보면 목아프고 어깨아프고 장난이 아니다..특히 날개쭉지 사이가 소리를 지른다. 고개가 앞으로 가면 갈수록 우리의 목은 그 무계를 지탱하느라 힘들어한다. 밑에 오른쪽 사진에 있는 자세를 보면 코어를 씀으로 몸에 중심이 잡혀 안정적이고 좋다..하지만 몇명이나 전화기를 그 자세로 쓸까? 생각해보자..바른자세로 전화기를 보면 전화기를 쓸때 코어 운동을 할수있다는 장점도 있다 ㅎㅎ
