National Caregivers Day is February 20!
🌎Today we recognize the staggering impact of caregivers in our community. There are over 53 million family caregivers in the U.S. alone, providing an estimated $600 billion in unpaid labor every year. From Alzheimer’s and AMD support to disability and hospice care, caregivers are the glue holding it all together.
Why this day matters: Caregiving isn't just a “senior issue.” It affects every generation. Many caregivers are part of the “Sandwich Generation” — simultaneously raising children and caring for aging parents. Today is about bringing these stories into the light and pushing for better support, resources, and recognition.
Ways to celebrate National Caregivers Day:
💌 Write a Note: A simple card telling a caregiver they are doing an impressive job can sustain them for weeks.
🎁 Small Acts: A gift card for coffee, a grocery delivery, or a few hours of babysitting/sitting with their loved one.
🗣 Raise Your Voice: Advocate for workplace policies that support family caregivers.
Caregiving is an act of courage. Today, we celebrate that courage. To every caregiver reading this: You are enough, and you are doing a magnificent job.
