Savoy Heights Senior Apartments in Mamou, LA recently hosted a Cheeto Relay Race presented by Harbor Hospice—and it was a hit with residents!

Teams of two sat across from each other wearing shower caps covered in shaving cream, competing to see who could land the most Cheetos on their partner’s cap. The activity encouraged teamwork, hand–eye coordination, a little friendly competition, and plenty of laughter.

It was a lighthearted, memorable way for residents to connect and enjoy time together at Savoy Heights.

Morse Manor Senior Apartments in Morse, LA had a special visit on October 17th as part of the International Rice Festival celebration in nearby Crowley. Residents were treated to a delightful surprise when the 87th International Rice Festival Junior Queen stopped by to share information about the upcoming festivities and her role in this year’s harvest season.

Her big personality and warm presence made the day memorable. Residents enjoyed the visit, felt truly recognized, and appreciated the thoughtful gesture leading into festival weekend.

Stonington Arms in Pawcatuck, CT recently hosted a wonderful day of outdoor activity and connection thanks to Mystic Cycling Without Age. On August 12th, residents were treated to rides around the property on a power-assisted trishaw, giving them the chance to enjoy fresh air, sunshine, and time with neighbors.

This volunteer-run program encourages older adults to get outside, socialize, and experience the joy of movement—an experience many residents said made them feel energized and engaged. The outing not only lifted spirits but also helped reduce isolation by creating meaningful shared moments.

Mystic Cycling Without Age is part of a global initiative that offers free, volunteer-led bike rides for older adults and individuals with limited mobility. With trained volunteer “pilots,” specialized tricycles, and a mission centered on community, conversation, and dignity, the program brings independence and adventure back into residents’ lives.
