One item on our needs list is portable monitors. These tools would allow nurses to continuously track a patient’s vitals while transporting them for tests or scans, making every off-unit trip safer by giving nurses real time updates on oxygen levels, blood pressure, and other vital signs.

With a generous donation from Mound City Bank, we are able to provide care bags for our oncology and infusion patients. Last year alone, our Oncology and Infusion center provided over 3,500 treatments, and these care packages will provide much-needed comfort for those long and difficult days.

We are very grateful for Mound City Bank's donation and the impact it will have on the well-being of our patients.

Construction is moving right along on both the Medical Suite & Childcare Center, with lots of progress happening across both sites!

Once complete, the childcare center will offer space for up to 140 children, and the new Medical Suite will house several specialties together under one roof to better serve our community. Seeing these projects take shape is incredibly rewarding, as each day brings us one step closer to opening these much-needed spaces for our patients and families.

We’re beyond grateful for all of the hard work happening behind the scenes and excited to share more milestones as we move ahead!

One wish list item is a Hana Surgery Table. This would support our surgery team by providing the equipment required for two orthopedic surgeons to perform hip surgeries at the same time. This addition eases scheduling challenges, reduces delays, and helps patients receive timely surgical care without waiting for surgeon availability to align.

Congratulations to our most recent DRIVEn Award winner, Ashley Kisting, RN!

We’re proud to recognize Ashley for exemplifying compassion, professionalism, and dedication in her role on the Family Medicine triage team.

Recently, Ashley handled a very difficult situation. Through her calm, empathetic, and reassuring communication, she helped the patient feel safe and supported, staying on the phone until help arrived. We’re very proud to celebrate Whitney Reichling-Runde, who was recognized by Reach Out and Read Wisconsin with the 2025 Excellence Award!

Thank you for making such a remarkable impact on our youngest patients and their families. Join us in congratulating Whitney on this incredible achievement!

We were recently able to present our yearly awards to champions of Reach Out and Read.

First up, Whitney Reichling-Runde, Reach Out and Read Clinic Coordinator for Southwest Health, who was awarded the 2025 Excellence Award.

This award was created to honor those individuals who go above and beyond and truly embody our core values of passion, excellence, respect, and innovation.

Whitney is the clinic coordinator for all five of the Southwest Health Reach Out and Read clinics.

Her incredible passion and dedication to the program are palpable the moment you walk into any of their clinics. This is evident in every detail, from the meticulous book tracking and sticker system to the inviting waiting room spaces with wall activities and reading nooks. She spearheaded the creation of children’s areas not only in the Family Medicine Clinic but also in the Women’s Health Department and Specialty Clinic and is now focusing on the Behavioral Health area. She also has led the organization of a provider read aloud at the annual community Berry Fest for the past two years to grow community excitement and awareness around the importance of shared reading.
