Your Support Brings Critical Tools to Patient Care

Because of the generosity of our amazing community, The Foundation of CVPH helps provide essential medical equipment that supports early detection and better outcomes — like the Tono-Pen.

The Tono-Pen is a handheld device that allows clinicians to quickly and accurately measure pressure inside the eye, helping detect conditions and vision-threatening issues. Early detection can make a life-changing difference.

Thanks to donor support, our care teams have access to the tools they need to diagnose, treat, and protect patients’ vision — right here at CVPH.

Every gift helps put advanced technology into the hands of those who care for our community every day. 💚

Sometimes healing starts with something as simple as touching the earth.

An Adult Psychiatry team member had a vision: bring the grounding, calming power of nature to patients during some of their most difficult moments. With support from The Foundation of CVPH and its generous donors, that vision has come to life.

Through new “green groups,” patients gather to plant seeds, breathe in the smell of fresh soil, and reconnect with their senses. They don’t just leave with a plant — they leave with a moment of peace.

These small but meaningful experiences offer reminders of home, safety, and new beginnings.

We are deeply grateful to our team for their creativity and compassion, and to the donors who help The Foundation make programs like this possible. Together, we’re planting seeds of healing that grow far beyond the hospital walls. 💚

Honoring Exceptional Care at the FitzPatrick Cancer Center

When Jim came to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center for radiation therapy, he found more than expert care — he found compassion, kindness, and a team that truly made a difference in his journey.

He was so moved by the support he received from three of our incredible radiation therapists — Emily Vanderveeken, Christina Bradfield, and Haleigh Thompson — that he chose to honor them through The Foundation of CVPH’s Honor a Caregiver program.

The program gives patients and families a way to recognize caregivers who go above and beyond. Jim wanted others to know how much Emily, Christina, and Haleigh meant to him during his treatment, and his gratitude inspired him to give back so that others can experience the same level of care.

We are deeply grateful for Jim’s generosity — and for Emily, Christina, Haleigh, and the entire team at the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, whose dedication touches countless lives in our community. 💚

When Michelle LaBounty lost her mother, Jeri Jo Linney, to a heart attack at just 45 years old, it changed her world forever. Years later, Michelle found a meaningful way to honor her mother’s memory — by helping others live longer, healthier lives.

In honor of Jeri Jo, Michelle donated funds to The Foundation of CVPH to purchase a specialized cardiac rehab bike. This piece of equipment helps patients recover from heart surgery or a heart attack and will soon be part of the new Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Facility — a space designed to give more patients the support, tools, and confidence to rebuild their health.

Her gift represents more than equipment. It’s a symbol of hope, resilience, and the lasting impact one person can make.

The Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab Facility will double the space available for patient care, allowing more people in our community to regain strength and improve their quality of life after heart and lung disease.

Michelle shared that she wanted to give something "tangible". Something people could see and use. Something that could help save lives.

The Sweethearts & Heroes team recently updated The Foundation of CVPH Board to share the incredible impact their HOPE and STEP programs are having in local schools.

Founder Tom Murphy, along with educators and students from Peru Central and Chazy Central, spoke about the real change they’ve seen, felt, and helped create through this work — fostering empathy, connection, and resilience among students.

We’re proud to sponsor programs like Sweethearts & Heroes that empower young people with tools to support one another and build stronger, kinder communities. 💚
