Meet Karen – Making a Difference Beyond the Hospital Walls

When asked about a meaningful moment during her time at The Foundation, Karen shared that the most powerful experiences are the ones where she sees firsthand how donor generosity changes lives.

One recent story stands out. A patient had worked incredibly hard to secure safe, supportive housing after discharge, but one final barrier remained: the cost of the deposit. Through a Foundation fund designed to remove financial obstacles for patients transitioning home, his social worker was able to step in and help.

Because of donor support, he was able to move into his own living space with a supportive community — setting him up for success beyond the hospital.

Karen reminds us that The Foundation doesn’t just support care inside hospital walls, it helps ensure patients have what they need in their own environment to truly heal and thrive.

Moments like these are why the work matters. 💚

Giving Back to a Community That Gave So Much

A heartfelt thank you to Judy and Rich Guglielmo for their continued generosity to The Foundation of CVPH. Through a recent gift, their total giving has reached an incredible $50,000 over the past few years, supporting projects and programs close to their hearts.

Rich shared, “Plattsburgh has been good to us and we want to pay it back.”

The couple moved to Plattsburgh in 1969 with the Air Force, arriving with very little. Over the years, they’ve built a life here and are deeply grateful for the opportunities and success they’ve experienced in this community.

Now, they’re giving back, and encouraging others to do the same.
We are so thankful for Judy and Rich’s generosity and their commitment to making a lasting difference in the North Country. 💚

Meet Mila, who made a very special donation to help brighten the day for our youngest patients. She generously donated a LOT of new Disney character blankets to our Kids Closet at CVPH!

These cozy blankets will be given to pediatric patients who come in for emergency care, helping them feel a little more comfortable, safe, and cared for during a stressful moment.

Small acts of kindness like Mila’s make a big difference for the children and families we serve. Thank you, Mila, for sharing your heart and helping bring smiles when they’re needed most! 💚

Honoring a Health Care Hero

Karen Reid recently had the pleasure of presenting a Health Care Hero pin to Patient Advocate Kelly Provost through The Foundation of CVPH’s Honor a Caregiver Program.

A grateful family made a gift in Kelly’s honor, sharing:
“We are incredibly grateful for the care and compassion Kelly showed during my husband’s hospital stay. She went above and beyond to meet his needs and consistently followed up with genuine concern.”

Kelly’s dedication and compassion are a true reflection of the care our patients and families experience every day.

Thank you, Kelly, for making such a meaningful difference, and thank you to the donors for recognizing her impact. 💚
