We are continuing our Volunteer Appreciation Month celebrations with another Volunteer Spotlight.

Meet Vicki M, one of Circle Tail's incredible on-site volunteers. Vicki helps exercise our dogs, assists in training classes, and provides veterinary technician expertise. When asked about why she chose to volunteer with Circle Tail, Vicki said, "I love being involved in organizations that make a difference in people’s lives. Circle Tail dogs bring such joy to students all across the area. They’re an invaluable tool to reach students in a new and powerful way."

To continue our Volunteer Appreciation Month celebrations, we want to take some time to highlight some of Circle Tail's amazing volunteers, beginning with Jen O, one of our incredible Facility Dog volunteers!

When asked about why she loves volunteering with Circle Tail, Jen said, "I love being a small part of a facility dog's journey toward its future workplace by providing an enriching foster home prior to placement. And when I am able to watch a dog working with a new team to support students, that brings the whole experience together for me! At every step, Circle Tail supports its dogs to become integral members of their working environments and strives to integrate the skills of the professionals in the school with the strengths of each dog. I am truly proud to be a part of that!"

Today we want to take a moment to remember beloved Fassett Jr High School Facility Dog Terra who recently passed away. Terra was a vital member of her school community, and she will be missed greatly. Her primary handler and host Kris told us, "She was such a blessing to so many, including our family...The work you do is truly remarkable and touches more lives than you can imagine."

Please join us in sending our sincere condolences to Kris, his family, and the entire Fassett Jr High School community.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month!

Circle Tail Volunteers make it possible for us to continue helping dogs help people. These wonderful volunteers socialize puppies, make events run smoothly, assist in our Facility Dog training classes, take care of campus maintenance projects, and so much more. Whether it's a sunny day or gloomy, rainy, and even snowy, our volunteers are always willing to lend a hand.

What is a Facility Dog?

Circle Tail Facility Dogs are placed in schools, police houses, hospice centers and more. They go through specialized training to work with professional staff trained by Circle Tail to help support the emotional, social, and cognitive needs of people within their facility. These dogs start their training as puppies and grow to become vital members of their communities, providing mental health and wellness support in their facilities on a daily basis and in times of crisis.

Playing is a crucial part of a Working Dog's day! Just like you deserve some breaks during your workday, dogs like Zinny need to have fun and exercise their body and mind.
