Real talk - the most common phrase patients say after testing and several months on immunotherapy is "I wish I had done this sooner."
I truly hear it every single week.

Allergy symptoms don’t have to be something you just live with year to year. 🌿
Getting answers about your triggers can be the first step toward long-term relief.

Allergy immunotherapy offers long-term relief from allergies by desensitizing the immune system, often reducing or eliminating the need for daily medication.
The body's response to irritants is not impacted by allergy shots.
The double whammy against unknown allergens + irritants = salt water.
🌊 Sinus Rinse
If pollen, dust, or cedar are inflaming your sinuses, a saline rinse (Neti pot or squeeze bottle) can make a big difference.
It works mechanically — washing out:
• Pollen
• Dust
• Mucus
• Irritants
After you irrigate and gently blow your nose, use your nasal steroid or antihistamine spray.
Clearing the passages first helps medication reach the nasal lining — not just sit on mucus.
⚠️ Always use distilled, sterile, or previously boiled (cooled) water — never plain tap water.

Call the office to book an allergy test for insight on your triggers!

Let This Be the Last Spring You’re Pummeled by Pollen
If tiny particles of tree pollen are hijacking your sinuses, sleep, and energy every year… that’s not something you just have to tolerate!
This could be the year you stop reacting, and start enjoying the outdoors again.
Ready to find out what your immune system is reacting to? 🌿
“Cedar fever” is caused by incredibly fine pollen released in massive clouds by cedar trees, historically early March in Tennessee.

Over-the-Counter Meds Aren’t the Full Solution
Antihistamines and nasal sprays can help — temporarily.
But if you’re reaching for the medicine cabinet every year, that’s a sign your immune system is stuck in a loop. You don’t have to white-knuckle it through spring.

Immunotherapy (allergy shots or drops) works by gradually retraining your immune system to tolerate what it’s overreacting to.
Instead of masking symptoms, it changes the response.
Many patients experience:
• Fewer symptoms
• Less medication use
• Better sleep
• Better energy
• Relief that lasts beyond one season

Allergy testing helps you:
✔ Confirm the triggers (spring pollen, mold, grasses, animal dander, or something else)
✔ Create a targeted treatment plan instead of guessing
Testing turns “I think I have allergies” into a clear roadmap and starts your freedom from the cycle.

Pediatric Allergy Testing!

Allergies are one of the most common pediatric health concerns in the U.S. While symptoms like sneezing or itchy eyes may seem minor, untreated allergies can contribute to asthma, chronic sinus infections, and sleep disruption that affects a child’s overall well-being (and therefore the parent's well being!)
Allergy symptoms often mimic colds or respiratory infections, accurate identification is critical for best treatment and resolution of symptoms.

Common pediatric allergy symptoms include:
Nasal congestion or sneezing
Itchy, watery eyes
Skin reactions such as eczema or hives
Frequent ear or sinus infections
Coughing, wheezing, or shortness of breath
Sleep disturbances from congestion or postnasal drip

Common triggers include pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and certain foods.

Early testing and treatment can significantly improve quality of life and help prevent more serious long-term respiratory complications.

Traditionally epinephrine was delivered by a needle-based auto-injector, but now Neffy, a needle-free nasal spray version of epinephrine is easily available! Neffy delivers the same life-saving medicine into the nasal passages where it is rapidly absorbed. Having a needle-free option can help people act fast in an emergency and reduce hesitation that might delay treatment when every minute counts.

Epinephrine is the first-line treatment for anaphylaxis because it quickly reverses the dangerous changes happening to the body during a severe allergic reaction — it constricts blood vessels to raise blood pressure, opens airways so you can breathe, and reduces swelling and hinders the release of allergy-causing chemicals like histamine. When given at the first signs of anaphylaxis, epinephrine can stop the reaction from progressing and buy critical time before emergency care arrives.

Food Allergy Testing Highlight:
Fish and seafood allergies can be serious and sometimes life-threatening, especially because reactions can be unpredictable and severe. Seafood is also a high-risk food for cross-contamination in restaurants and kitchens, meaning exposure can happen even when you don’t order it directly. Fish and shellfish are different allergen groups, so testing can clarify exactly what needs to be avoided (and what may still be safe). Testing removes the guesswork. Knowing your results helps you plan safer meals, dining out, travel, and emergency preparedness with more confidence.

How do Allergy Shots work?
Once we identify the specific triggers of your symptoms through testing, allergy shots introduce your body to allergens in a way that enables your immune system to build antibodies gradually over time. After some time on shots the body's histamine cascade is greatly reduced, making symptoms a mere memory. This takes 6 months for most folks, and full treatment is 3 years so that the benefit stays with you for decades. When you support your immune system at this deep level, over the counter medications commonly become unnecessary, even in your historically hardest seasons for symptom flare ups.
If your ready to invest in your long term health, ditch some OTC medications, and enjoy life fully in all seasons - call Jenna!
