Let me introduce myself…
I’m Debi Williams, the founder of Hummingbird Farms. The inspiration for our company came from both a dream and an unexpected detour in my life. In 2003, my husband Jack and I envisioned growing lavender on our farm in the Texas Hill Country. That same year, at 38, I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer - an experience that changed the course of my life. During treatment, I struggled with sensitive, irritated skin and found real comfort in aloe, yet I couldn’t find products that truly used it in meaningful amounts. That was the spark that eventually became Hummingbird Farms.
At the time, it was just a hobby business - my creative outlet. We spent weekends hosting farm tours, attending farmers markets and trade shows, never imagining what it would grow into. But people kept coming back, sharing how much our products helped their skin. Word spread, demand grew, and soon we were featured on QVC, where we became Customer Top Rated. That’s when I realized this wasn’t just a hobby anymore. It was a calling.
Before taking that leap, I spent 28 years in corporate America, including 18 years in leadership roles. My career took me to five different cities as I was relocated for new opportunities and expanded responsibilities. Those years taught me a lot about resilience, business, and leading with heart - skills I didn’t know I was quietly gathering for the day I’d build something of my own.
Eventually, I hung up my corporate hat to follow my passion and fully embrace what I had discovered: a love for creating body care products that are more than just bath and body - they’re skin treatments. Products designed to genuinely improve your skin and elevate the small, everyday rituals of self-care.
