You’ve been treating your body like it’s a stranger, or worse, an enemy. It’s been so long that you forgot it’s trying to protect you.

The tight shoulders, the clenched jaw, the pain that won’t quit. Those are all signs your nervous system is still in protection mode.

I help people understand what their pain is trying to say. So it stops feeling random or scary and starts making sense.

If you’ve tried everything and you’re still hurting, you’re not broken. Your body just needs someone who understands where that pain or tension is coming from, and help you release and let it go.

Try this nervous system practice I teach my clients.

This nervous system practice helps you get back in your body.

When you’re dysregulated, you’re in your head. Let’s get you back in your body, so you can get clear.

Here’s the simplest way I can explain the difference between massage and somatic work:

Massage releases muscle tension so you feel better for a few days, but then the tightness comes back.

Somatic work goes deeper. We help your nervous system feel safe enough to let go of the patterns creating the tension in the first place.

If the same pain keeps showing up in the same spots, your body needs more than muscle work. It needs to feel safe.

If you’re ready to try somatic work, send me a message for a free consultation.

After 23 years of this work, I’ve learned that most people don’t need to be fixed, they need to be believed.

They arrive carrying pain that tests say doesn’t exist. They have tension that won’t release no matter how many appointments they’ve tried. Many have told me that their body feels like a stranger.

They’ve tried many ways to help themselves: The medical system taught them to override what they feel. Talk therapy helped them understand why. But their nervous system is still waiting for permission to let go.

That’s where I come in.

I work with your body to help it remember safety. I translate the language your pain has been speaking, which is a language you were never taught to understand.

If you’ve tried everything and you’re still hurting, you’re not broken, you’re not too much, and I know you’re not making it up.

Your body makes perfect sense. I’m here to show you what your body is trying to tell you and why.

BodyMind Italy • Day 28/29

What is your body asking from you?

Yesterday started beautifully. Sessions with clients felt grounding and supportive. By evening, what I thought were allergies turned into a head cold and chills.

Since returning home, I’ve been unpacking more than my luggage. Layers of energy, emotion, and old identity are releasing. I’ve been adding sauna and red light therapy, and apparently, my body decided it was time for a deeper reset.

So today, I’m resting.
I don’t want to cancel my sessions, but I know this pause is part of the integration.

Stillness restores what striving can’t.

BodyMind Italy • Day 27
Quiet evening check in
Took it slow today. A gentle return to the gym, sauna, and a little red light therapy.
My body thanked me for the pace.
The day moved fast, but I kept finding moments to breathe and soften.
Italy keeps reminding me that integration isn’t a checklist, it’s a rhythm returning to itself.
No filters, no makeup, just presence and preparation for what’s next.
What rhythm is your body asking for tonight?

BodyMind Italy • Day 26
A slower sunrise

Early morning walk with Bill. The sky lit up, a quiet reminder that the pace has shifted.

Stopped to see my parents and gifted my mom a handmade clutch from my favorite leather artisan in Orvieto. Her smile said it all.

Still unpacking… Italy continues to reveal itself in unexpected ways.

BodyMind Italy • Day 25

Re-entry isn’t the end of the journey, it’s the beginning of integration.

Home again, but the journey isn’t over. Bill is already unpacking with his steady calm, bringing order to the travel chaos. I’m learning to do the same.

In the past, I’d jump right back into work, seeing clients within hours of landing. But over the last couple of years, with Bill’s quiet support, I’ve learned to pause and give myself a little space before moving forward.

There’s something sacred about this in-between place, not quite there and not quite here. Italy shifted something in me, and the next few weeks will show what’s ready to emerge.

What does re-entry look like for you?

BodyMind Italy • Day 23

Final hours in Italy
One last walk, a little shopping, and an un caffè affogato for Wanda. The perfect Italian send-off. Now checked into an airport hotel near Fiumicino (with an extra suitcase, of course ).

Italy always finds a way to fill your heart and your luggage.

BodyMind Italy • Day 22

A beautiful rainy day in Rome. Staying near Campo de’ Fiori this time, a new rhythm, a deeper layer of the city. I did more shopping, a little aperitivo and added a little classical music this evening at chiesa Santa Agnes.

Met up with our friend for a coffee and to catch up.

I first met Francesca Caruso in 2018 on a Rick Steves tour with my mom, and she moved me to tears. Years later, I was fortunate to have her as our Rome guide on my first BodyMind Italy journey in 2023. Her passion and love for this city are unmatched.

I’m looking forward to collaborating with Francesca and Rainer to create experiences that invite you to Eat, Reflect, and Transform.

We are not just tour guides or bodyworkers, we create connection and community that allows you to discover what’s been waiting inside you all along.

BodyMind Italy • Day 21

Woke up to cloudy skies and gentle raindrops. Fall has finally arrived. As we say goodbye to Orvieto, I feel grateful for the warmth of good food, small shops, and quiet streets. Our Italian journey enters its final leg as we head to Rome for a longer stay. Excited to reconnect with a dear friend tomorrow.
