📵 Need a reset?
A new study shows that even a short social media detox can boost your mental health — improving mood, reducing stress, and helping you feel more present.

The holiday season can be a time of both connection and conflict.

Heightened stress, crowded schedules, and emotional expectations can create tension in our homes and communities.

Commit to patience, understanding, and healthy communication, and be sure to foster spaces where everyone feels respected, even when disagreeing.

Today is "Let's Hug Day"

It’s a tiny moment with a huge impact — a reset button for the heart, a reminder that we’re not alone, and sometimes the simplest form of healing we can offer or receive.

Hug a friend.
Hug your people.
Hug yourself today.

A few seconds of connection can change an entire day. 💞🤗

From all of us at CM Counsel — Happy Thanksgiving!

Holiday family gathering? Here’s a therapist-approved survival plan:

**Claim the comfiest armchair (the “avoid-all-deep-convos” chair).
**Sip something warm and holiday-themed (coffee, cocoa, or suspiciously spiked punch — your call).
**When politics start to rise, use the ol’ reliable: “Hey, I need a quick walk — brb.”
**Two-hour limit. Family in → acceptance; Family out → peace restored.
**Reward yourself afterward with a nap.

Wishing you more laughs than awkward silences this season!!

Today is World Kindness Day 💙 — a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can have a big impact.

Kindness isn’t just about being nice — it’s about creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and supported.

** Be kind to others.
** Be kind to yourself.

This Veterans Day, let's pause to honor those who’ve served — and to recognize the courage, sacrifice, strength and invisible battles many continue to face.

Let’s also remember that true support means caring for the whole person — including mental health.
Reaching out, checking in, and reminding our veterans: you are not alone. 💙

Sometimes, we just need to pause, breathe, and begin again.
Life can feel heavy, but every sunrise is another chance to start fresh — to heal, to grow, and to move forward at our own pace.

This is a reminder: you don’t have to have it all figured out. Just take the next small, kind step. 💚

As the days grow shorter, remember: it’s okay to slow down.

Seasonal changes can impact our mood, energy, and focus — but awareness helps us prepare. Prioritize rest, routine, and connection.

You’re not alone in feeling the shift.

Signs It Might Be Time to Reach Out for Mental Health Support

Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. If you’ve noticed any of these signs lately, it might be time to talk to a professional:

✨ You feel persistently sad, anxious, or empty.
😴 Your sleep or appetite has changed significantly.
💭 You’re losing interest in things that once made you happy.
⚡ You feel constantly on edge, overwhelmed, or irritable.
💔 You’re withdrawing from friends, family, or activities.
🌀 You feel hopeless or like you’re “stuck” in your thoughts.
😞 You’re using substances or other habits to cope.

Seeking help isn’t a sign of weakness — it’s a sign of strength. ❤️
Therapists, counselors, and support lines are there to listen and help you heal.

If you’re struggling right now, you don’t have to go through it alone. Reaching out is the first step.
