Colten Michael Silveus

Colten Michael Silveus, 26, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025. He was born on July 1, 1999, in South Bend, Indiana to Michael and Jill (Konrath) Silveus. He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 2018. On January 10, 2020, he married Jaylin Young in Plymouth.

Colten worked for the Repairer of Broken Walls Church. Colten had a deep connection with nature. He found peace and joy in the beauty of the world around him, whether he was working on the farm, camping under the stars, kayaking down a river, or simply spending quiet moments outside. The outdoors was where Colten felt most at home, and he cherished every opportunity to explore and experience it.

Beyond his love for nature, Colten was known for his selflessness and generosity. He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help anyone he cared about whether it was lending a hand on the farm or offering support during tough times. His ability to give without hesitation made him a cornerstone of the lives of those who knew him.

As a father, Colten was devoted to his two young daughters, Josephine and Clementine. His love for them was boundless, and he was deeply committed to their happiness and future. His daughters were his pride and joy, and he always dreamed of watching them grow up surrounded by love, laughter, and the same strong sense of kindness he showed to everyone.

He is survived by his parents, wife Jaylin Silveus of Bremen; daughters Josephine and Clementine of Bremen; siblings: Ethan (Becca) Silveus of Leesburg; Keegan Silveus of Plymouth; Makayla Silveus of Argos; Levi Silveus of Plymouth; sister Elli Silveus of Plymouth; brother-in-law Kane Young of Plymouth; Boston (Amanda) Hunter of Plymouth; Otis Young of South Bend; sister-in-law Lani (Joe) Ball.

A lifelong resident of Marshall County, he graduated from Plymouth High School with the Class of 1974. He worked at PiRod in Plymouth until he transitioned to B & P Trucking where he held a dedicated career as a truck driver, retiring on December 31, 2017.

Bob’s greatest joys in life were his grandchildren; he loved spending time with them, working in his vegetable garden, nurturing and harvesting his zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes and squash. His passion for his old Ford and John Deere tractors was shared with them as well. Bob was mechanically inclined and could work on about any small engine.

John Andrew Carter

John Andrew Carter, 66, passed away peacefully on December 15th, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on September 22nd, 1959, in Gary, IN, John was the son of George and Dorothy Carter (Keilman). John was a 1977 graduate of John Glenn High School in Walkerton, IN.

Early in John’s career he worked at Young Door in Plymouth, IN. Later in life, John worked at the Indiana Department of Corrections, specifically the Westville Prison Facility. John later became a TSA agent at the local South Bend Regional Airport until retirement.

John was a pillar of strength and support for his family. Single handed, he raised three children on his own. Not only at times did he work several jobs, but found the time to coach his kids’ football or baseball teams. He was a true role model, who never expected a “thank you” or asked for anything in return. He was the type of father who “caught you every time” then “taught you to stand up taller”. He was the definition of stability and silently he reformed and taught a lifetime of values to his kids. For us kids, he was and will forever be our everything.

John was the “funny” uncle for his nieces and nephews. He was the “protector” to brothers and sisters. He was the “kind soul” to many friends. He was “spiritual” and overall, just a good person. Others remember him as Santa Claus as he would volunteer for many around Christmas time.

John was survived by his children, Lindsey Cathleen Ruby (Carter), and her husband Matthew Ruby. His son Jon Carter and his wife Sydney Carter and his daughter Emily Carter. He is survived by his (4) grandsons, Connor Sternaman, Lucas Sternaman, Zayne Ruby, and Blake Carter. John was also survived and very excited to have an upcoming granddaughter due in February of 2026. John is survived by his siblings, Colleen Carter (Posey), Josephine Carter (Flanagan), Marrianne Carter (Brown), Andrew Carter, Dennis Carter, and spouses. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents George Andrew Carter and Dorothy Ann Carter (Keilman).

A funeral service will be held to celebrate John’s life on Friday, December 19th, 2025 at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Friends and family are welcome to attend and pay their respects; doors will open at 11:00am, time to share memories will begin at 12:30pm, and the memorial service will immediately follow.

Rest in peace dear father, your memory will live in our hearts forever.

Today, we stand united in solemn reverence as we lay wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery, a sacred place where heroes rest. Through the Wreaths Across America project, we honor the bravery, service, and sacrifice of our fallen soldiers, ensuring their memory lives on for generations to come.

Each wreath placed represents more than just a holiday tradition—it’s a powerful reminder of the cost of freedom and the enduring legacy of those who have served. As we lay these wreaths, we pause to reflect on the values they fought to protect: duty, honor, and country.

This act of remembrance connects us to the men and women who have given their all for the freedoms we cherish. It is our privilege to show gratitude and respect, not only today but every day.

May the wreaths we placed today serve as a symbol of respect, remembrance, and the unbreakable bond between our nation and those who have served.
