We are SO ready for spring!
That recent storm dumped nearly 2 feet of snow and we’re already seeing the impact on backs across the South Shore.

If you’re still digging out, these orthopedic quick tips can help reduce your risk of snow shoveling back pain.

Quick Tips to Protect Your Back:

• Warm up for 2–3 minutes before shoveling
• Use a lightweight, ergonomic shovel
• Bend at your hips and knees — not your waist
• Keep the shovel close to your body
• Avoid twisting while throwing snow
• Take breaks every 10–15 minutes
• Push snow when possible instead of lifting

If you develop persistent back pain, numbness, or pain down the leg, it’s time to get evaluated.

Plymouth Bay Orthopedic Associates is here when you need us.

Back pain isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your care shouldn’t be either.

At Plymouth Bay Orthopedic Associates, Dr. Leckie and our spine team begin with a thorough evaluation and a treatment plan built around your symptoms, goals, and daily life.

For many patients, the right path starts with conservative care. When more advanced treatment is appropriate, you’ll have clear guidance and support every step of the way.

We’re grateful for the trust our patients place in our team.

Hand pain isn’t always “just getting older.” Ongoing stiffness, numbness, weakness, or tingling can point to issues that are easier to treat when caught early. The sooner you get answers, the more options you have to protect movement and keep doing what you love.

Dr. Kenniston and Dr. Frechette lead our dedicated Hand Team at Plymouth Bay Orthopedic Associates, treating everything from arthritis and carpal tunnel to tendon injuries and fractures. Care is always tailored, starting with the least invasive options whenever possible.

If your hands aren’t working the way they should, don’t ignore it. Relief starts with the right diagnosis.

Hip or knee pain isn’t something you just have to live with.

Many patients delay evaluation because they assume surgery is the only option. It isn’t. A consultation with Dr. Aman Sharma is about understanding what’s happening inside the joint and learning what modern treatment options actually look like.

You don’t commit to surgery.
You commit to clarity.

If pain is limiting your movement, it may be time to get answers.

Not all knee pain requires surgery. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy can help stimulate the body’s natural repair response for select knee injuries and arthritis cases. Dr. R. Scott Oliver provides comprehensive evaluations and treatment options tailored to each patient.

Ambulatory Surgery Center Update from Dr. Stanwood

“We’re excited to share a quick update on our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) progress. We expect to receive our Certificate of Occupancy within the next couple of weeks, and from there we’ll move into the final licensing steps with the state.

We anticipate a Massachusetts site visit for our state license in late February or March, followed by our AAAHC accreditation survey in late March or early April. Once accreditation is complete, we expect to begin scheduling Medicare cases by the end of April or early May, with additional insurance participation to follow as approvals are finalized.

We’ll continue to share updates as we get closer. Thank you for your continued support.” - Dr. Walter Stanwood
