Shoulder pain holding you back? A SLAP tear, an injury to the top portion of the shoulder’s labrum—can cause deep pain, popping, instability, or trouble lifting overhead.
While mild tears may respond to 6-12 weeks of physical therapy, more severe cases (especially those involving the biceps tendon or full labral detachment) often require surgical repair.

How you sleep can influence joint pressure:

Side sleepers: Place a pillow between the knees to align the hips
Back sleepers: Place a pillow under knees to reduce low back and hip tension
Support reduces strain and may decrease morning stiffness.

If pain continues to disrupt sleep, evaluation may help clarify underlying causes. We are here for you!

Happy Friday from a Happy Spine

Here’s a look inside one of this weeks procedures with Dr. Leckie. This image shows a kyphoplasty in progress, a minimally invasive procedure used to treat painful vertebral compression fractures. During kyphoplasty, a small balloon is inserted into the fractured vertebra to create space, and then medical-grade cement is placed to stabilize the bone and restore height.

This technique can provide rapid pain relief and improved mobility for patients dealing with severe spine compression injuries.

A good day in the OR and a happy spine to end the week.
