Meet Charlotte McCaffery! Kathy, Charlotte's daughter, shared this with us, "We moved Mom to Miller's Senior Living Community about two years ago. While it was a hard decision, Miller's has been the perfect place. They provide such a wonderful, family atmosphere. The restaurant offers amazing meals and desserts, and we know Mom is safe and happy. She has made friends, enjoys activities, or can simply relax in her apartment. Her apartment truly feels like home. The staff genuinely care about their residents. We are so glad we chose Miller's."

When asked to donate to the Delta Theta Tau Paddle Auction, Anna Corbett, Community Relations Director, was more than happy to help. With summer right around the corner, she put together a fun cooler filled with beach goodies, perfect for soaking up some sunshine!

We love when the residents get the chance to have their voices heard! Traveling polls came right to us, making it easy and convenient for residents to cast their vote. Thanks to the Marshall County Clerk's/Voter Registration Office for helping make that happen! It's such a great feeling knowing they don't have to go out, but can still take part in something so important.

This election brought out a wonderful turnout, and we loved seeing so many residents excited to vote for their favorite candidate!

Volunteers truly hold a special place in our hearts at Miller's. They show up with kindness, compassion, and a willingness to simply be present. Whether that's sitting and sharing stories, helping during activities, offering a listening ear, bringing a little extra joy into someone's day. It's the small moments they create that leave the biggest impact.

We are so thankful for each and every one of our volunteers, and while not all are pictured, please know how much they are very much appreciated! We couldn't do it without you! Happy National Volunteer Month!

Last Friday, some of our staff wore red in honor of Remember Everyone Deployed (R.E.D.) Day. At Miller's, we hold a deep appreciation for the brave men and women who serve our country, both those currently deployed and our veterans who have given so much. A few of our residents have served or have loved ones who are still serving, and their stories remind us daily of the sacrifices made for our freedom.

Wearing red may seem like a small gesture, but it's a heartfelt way to show our support and let our troops know they are never forgotten! Do you have a veteran or active service member in your life you'd like to recognize?

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to Kandi Matthews! Kandi is our Office Manager, but if you ask.... she's a little bit of everything around the campus. She's always there to answer questions, sit down with residents and families, and help in any way she can. No matter how busy she is, she takes the time to listen and that says a lot!

We are so lucky to have her as part of our Miller's family! Thanks, Kandi, for all you do for us at the assisted living! Have you ever had that one person you can always count on no matter what?

It's National Library Week! 📚 We are very fortunate to have a great selection of books right here for the residents to sit down, relax, and enjoy a good read. Whether it's a favorite author or something new, there's just something about getting lost in a book. Reading helps keep the mind sharp, reduces stress, and even sparks great conversations.

If anyone has large print books they would like to donate, we would love to add them to our collections, just give us a call at 574-936-9801.

There's just something about a fresh coat of paint that brings new life into a space. A few of our amazing staff members rolled up their sleeves Monday night and again Tuesday to spruce up the restaurant with some new paint. The updated colors have really brightened things up, and the residents are already loving the fresh, cheerful look!

Now we're on the to the fun part, adding some wall décor to pull it all together. Stay tuned to see how it all comes together!

Miller's was truly honored to serve families this past Monday at Dustin's Place. Dustin's Place is such an incredible organization in our community, providing a safe, welcoming space for children and families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. They bring together a team who support, protect, and advocate for children, making sure families feel heard, cared for, and not alone.

Being even a small part of that mission means so much to us. Our team loved the opportunity to give back, connect, and support the amazing work they do every single day. We are so grateful for organizations like Dustin's Place that make a difference right here in our community!

Today is National Laundry Day. Seriously, who actually likes doing laundry? At Miller's, we try to make it as easy and as painless as possible. Our laundry rooms are conveniently located on the 2nd floor, they are coin-free, and we even provide the laundry soap and there's a folding table for the residents convenience.

Don't forget, we take care of the sheets and towels for you. If doing personal laundry becomes too much, we're happy to help for a small fee. Families are always welcome to lend a hand when they visit, and for those who enjoy keeping their routine, we encourage residents to do their own laundry to maintain that independence. It's all about options and making life a little simpler every day!

Miller's would like to thank the community members and the candidates who came out and introduced themselves at our Candidate Night event. Each candidate was given two minutes to share where they stand and their passion behind why they are running.

Anna Corbett, Community Relations Director, hosted the evening and Jennifer Merritt, Restaurant Manager, provided delicious snacks for everyone to enjoy. It was a very informative and engaging night! Be sure to get out and vote! Your voice matters, and every vote truly counts!

April is Stress Awareness Month, and around here we like to keep life as stress-free as possible. Yes, stress-free can mean no cooking, no cleaning, and no worrying about yard work, but it's so much more than that. It's having time to do the things that truly fill your cup. Whether it's getting in a little exercise, laughing with friends, enjoying a family picnic, doing crafts, blowing bubbles just because, or sitting down with kids and sharing stories about what life was like growing up. It's those moments that matter!

At Miller's we believe less stress means more living. More smiles, more connection, and more time to enjoy each day the way you want to. What's one thing you like to do to relax and de-stress, we like to know?
