This past Saturday, we hosted the Bob Humbug 5K, benefiting the Marshall County Neighborhood Center.
Despite a cold morning, the race went smoothly and finished without a single injury or accident. We had around 32 participants, with runners and walkers of all ages showing up to support a great cause.
Together, we raised $853 for the Neighborhood Center and filled a grocery cart with non-perishable food items to help support local families in our community.
We also handed out awards following the race:
Overall Winners
Male Winner: Juan Collaz
Second Place Male: Jeff Ransbottom
Female Winner: Emma Lyon
Second Place Female: Rebecca Schwartz
Additional Awards
Oldest Female Runner: Jackie Carpenter
Oldest Male Runner: Fred Searls
Youngest Male Runner: Jared Tillman
Youngest Female Runners: Alaynah Tillman & Piper Overmyer
Best Costume: Jackie Carpenter
One special recognition was the Grant Shenefield Award, created by Bob Lyon in honor of his grandfather. This award celebrates the runner who best represents true team spiritāencouraging others, lifting people up, and leading by example. This yearās recipient was Kyle Schneider.
Thank you to Biggby Coffee for donating coffee, and everyone who ran, walked, donated, volunteered, and helped make this event a success. Strong turnout, real impact, and a great example of what can happen when a community shows upāeven on a cold Saturday.
