Marshall-Starke Development Center, Inc. Joesph, Miami, Wabash, Kosciusko, and Fulton Counties.

MSDC empowers individuals with disabilities through day services, employment, residential support, Head Start, and community programs across Marshall, Starke, Pulaski, St. Beginning in 1965, Marshall-Starke provided a wide range of rehabilitative services to developmentally disabled individuals. Adult services have further been enhanced through the promotion of community employment and the provision of valuable production alternatives for area business and industry which has resulted in positive and successful relationships in our communities. From these modest beginnings, Marshall-Starke branched into early childhood education for non-disabled and at-risk children through our Head Start, Early Head Start, and Healthy Families programs. The programs and services offered through Marshall-Starke and recognized by national accreditations, such as CARF and NAEYC, substantiate what recipients of our services have known for over 40 years that Marshall-Starke promotes a culture of compassion and a commitment to accountability.

Are You In Need? (Furniture Assistance)

Everyone deserves a place that feels like home. πŸ πŸ’™

Through Second Chance Furnishings, a program of MSDC, we provide free, gently used furniture and household items to individuals and families who are working toward stability and a fresh start.

Many people moving into new housing begin with very little β€” sometimes nothing at all. No bed to sleep on. No table to gather around. No place to sit and rest. Second Chance Furnishings helps bridge that gap by restoring comfort, dignity, and hope β€” one home at a time.

How to Receive Furniture

To receive items, individuals must first obtain a voucher through one of our partnering agencies, including:
β€’ Tri-Share Child Care Pilot Program (United Way of Marshall County, Indiana)
β€’ Marshall County Emergency Management Agency
β€’ Cultivate Food Rescue
β€’ Link To Hope
β€’ REAL Services, Inc.
β€’ Breathe Easy Marshall County Alliance
β€’ Marshall County Council on Aging
β€’ LifePlex Fitness Forum Sports & Wellness
β€’ The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ
β€’ Marshall County Neighborhood Center

Once a voucher is received:
1️⃣ Contact MSDC to schedule an appointment
2️⃣ Bring your voucher to your appointment
3️⃣ Arrange your own transportation to take items home.
Limited delivery assistance may be available in emergency situations only.

🚚 Delivery may be available within Plymouth city limits for a $15 fee (exceptions may apply based on need).

πŸŽ„βœ¨ Creativity, teamwork, and holiday cheer! βœ¨πŸŽ„

Our group put so much heart, creativity, and hard work into decorating this tree β€” and it truly shows. Moments like these remind us what MSDC is all about: coming together, supporting one another, and taking pride in what we create as a team.

We are so proud of the effort, imagination, and joy our participants bring every day. This is what community looks like. πŸ’™
