Marshall-Starke Development Center, Inc. Joesph, Miami, Wabash, Kosciusko, and Fulton Counties.

MSDC empowers individuals with disabilities through day services, employment, residential support, Head Start, and community programs across Marshall, Starke, Pulaski, St. Beginning in 1965, Marshall-Starke provided a wide range of rehabilitative services to developmentally disabled individuals. Adult services have further been enhanced through the promotion of community employment and the provision of valuable production alternatives for area business and industry which has resulted in positive and successful relationships in our communities. From these modest beginnings, Marshall-Starke branched into early childhood education for non-disabled and at-risk children through our Head Start, Early Head Start, and Healthy Families programs. The programs and services offered through Marshall-Starke and recognized by national accreditations, such as CARF and NAEYC, substantiate what recipients of our services have known for over 40 years that Marshall-Starke promotes a culture of compassion and a commitment to accountability.

Celebrating ability means recognizing strengths, talents, and contributions β€” not limitations.

At MSDC, individuals of all abilities are supported through programs that focus on independence, inclusion, and belonging. Every person has something meaningful to offer, and our community is stronger because of it.

Awareness leads to understanding.

We had a wonderful time learning from Plymouth Veterinary Clinic during Coffee & Community. 🐾

They brought along two very friendly dogs and shared what it’s like to work in a veterinary clinic, how they care for animals, and answered questions from our participants. Everyone enjoyed the visit and the chance to meet some very sweet four-legged guests.

Thank you Plymouth Vet Clinic for taking the time to spend the morning with us and share what you do with our participants. We truly appreciate community partners like you.

πŸŽ‰ Exciting News for MSDC!

We are proud to share that Jessye Gilley, Vice President of Mission Advancement at Marshall-Starke Development Center, has been selected for the INARF Leadership Academy Class of 2026.

Jessye is one of just 30 leaders across Indiana chosen for this highly respected program focused on strengthening leadership within the intellectual and developmental disabilities service system.

Her dedication, vision, and passion for building meaningful community partnerships continue to move our mission forward. This opportunity will allow Jessye to further expand her leadership skills while connecting with other leaders who are committed to advancing services and opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We are incredibly proud of Jessye and excited to see how this experience continues to strengthen the work we do every day for the individuals and families we serve.

Congratulations, Jessye! πŸ‘
