Now Hiring: Full-Time Sleep Technologist (Day Shift with Some Night Coverage)
Speare Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Polysomnographic Technologist to join our growing Sleep Center team. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.
In this role, you’ll work under the supervision of our medical director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. From performing polysomnographic testing and PAP fittings to monitoring study quality and educating patients, you will play a key part in helping patients achieve healthier sleep.
What You’ll Do:
• Gather and analyze patient information to determine the appropriate testing parameters
• Prepare patients for studies, apply sensors/electrodes, and calibrate equipment
• Perform polysomnographic procedures and document sleep stages and clinical events
• Monitor data quality and make adjustments as needed
• Implement therapeutic interventions such as PAP therapy and oxygen administration
• Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events following established guidelines
• Educate patients on pre-, during-, and post-testing procedures, including home sleep apnea testing
• Maintain equipment, evaluate inventory, and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards
• Demonstrate teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care in alignment with our mission and values
Qualifications:
• Completion of a polysomnography program (minimum one year) or equivalent experience
• Minimum one year of experience as a sleep technician
• BRPT certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (or equivalent)
• BLS Certification
• Ability to perform EEGs and strong communication skills
• Background in respiratory therapy, paramedicine, or nursing preferred
