🎤 How fast can singers bounce back after a vocal cord bleed?
A new study found that most performers returned to singing in just about 12 days, with only a small number having a recurrence.
That’s encouraging news for anyone who depends on their voice!

We’re now the only clinic in Southeastern Idaho offering digital stroboscopy, which allows us to see the vocal cords in motion and safely guide recovery for singers, teachers, and public speakers.

If your voice changes suddenly or you lose your range, don’t wait — we can help.

🚨 Sleep Apnea Surgery Isn’t Just About AHI — It’s About Oxygen Too.
A new study found that upper airway surgery for OSA didn’t just reduce events—it improved how long patients spent with low oxygen (pT90). And those improvements correlated with less daytime sleepiness.
If you’ve been struggling with snoring or fatigue despite treatment, you may still have hypoxia at night to fix.
Talk with your ENT about your oxygen metrics—because AHI alone doesn’t tell the whole story.

🚨 Most people on reflux meds for throat symptoms don’t actually need them long-term.

A new study found that two-thirds of patients with LPR were able to stop PPIs — simply by using lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and alginate therapy.

Only 6% actually needed to stay on the meds.

LPR isn’t a “pill for life” problem — it’s a habit problem.
Fix the root cause and your body can heal itself.

If you’ve been living on PPIs and still feel throat clearing, globus, or cough — it’s time to rethink your approach.

👨‍⚕️ I teach this full system in my online course for overcoming LPR naturally.

🔔 That constant ringing in your ears? There may finally be progress.

A new study in the Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery journal tested two medication combinations for tinnitus —
👉 Nortriptyline + Topiramate
👉 Verapamil + Paroxetine

Both groups showed significant improvement in tinnitus severity after 8 weeks —
while the placebo group didn’t show meaningful change.

Now, this doesn’t mean we’ve found a cure (not yet!) —
but it’s encouraging to finally see controlled research exploring real treatment options.

If you’ve struggled with tinnitus, talk with your ENT about what’s new in management —
including addressing hearing loss, sleep quality, and anxiety.

I’ll keep breaking down ENT research so you can stay informed — and maybe one day, we’ll turn down that ringing for good. 👂✨

👃 Still feel congested, even after allergy meds or septum surgery? It might not be your sinuses — it might be your nasal valve.

The nasal valve is the narrowest part of your nose — kind of like the “bottleneck” for airflow. When it collapses, even a little, it can make it hard to breathe through your nose.

Here’s a quick at-home test:
➡️ Look in the mirror and breathe in. Do the sides of your nose pull inward?
➡️ Try gently pulling on your cheek to the side — does that make breathing easier?

If so, your nasal valve could be part of the problem.

A recent study by Dr. Silvers in the Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery Journal looked at a treatment called temperature-controlled radiofrequency (TCRF) — a minimally invasive, in-office procedure that helps strengthen the nasal valve and improve airflow.
At 3 years, over 80% of patients still felt significant improvement — and there were no serious side effects.

This area is one of my favorite causes of “mystery nasal congestion” because it often goes unrecognized — even by doctors.

If you’ve been struggling to breathe through your nose despite trying everything else, it might be time to look closer at the nasal valve. 👃✨

The path that led me to write this book began in a small town in Idaho, where I first dreamed of becoming a doctor. Today, as a board-certified ear, nose, and throat surgeon, I've treated thousands of patients struggling with throat issues. But it wasn't until my residency training that I discove...

It’s a habit that’s hard to break, or you might not even know you SHOULD!!!✋🏼🙅‍♂️

Every time you clear your throat, you’re creating a vicious cycle of irritation. The forceful action inflames your vocal cords, which then produces more mucus, which makes you want to clear your throat again. Sound familiar?

What most people don’t realize is that throat clearing isn’t solving the problem - it’s making it worse. Your vocal cords are delicate tissues that need gentle care, not repeated trauma.

Better alternatives that actually work:
➡️ Sip room temperature water

➡️ Do a gentle, deliberate swallow

➡️ Try the “silent H” technique (breathe in, hold, then swallow)

➡️ Address the underlying cause (allergies, reflux, post-nasal drip)

The key is breaking the cycle before it becomes an automatic habit. If you find yourself constantly clearing your throat, it’s time to investigate what’s really causing that irritation in the first place.

Tired of that persistent throat discomfort controlling YOUR life? I created this 6-week masterclass after seeing thousands of patients struggle with the same issues - constant throat clearing, that annoying “lump” sensation, and voice changes that impact both work and personal life!

Imagine finally having ⬇️

✓ A clear throat without constant clearing
✓ Relief from that persistent irritation
✓ Better sleep (yes, throat issues affect this too!)
✓ Professional guidance without multiple office visits

Instead of generic advice, I’m sharing the exact protocols and techniques I use with my patients - approaches backed by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and my years of clinical practice.

The course includes 6 hours of individualized guidance that would cost significantly more in clinical visits. I’ve distilled everything into an actionable program anyone can follow at home!

People only truly understand the value of their voice when it’s compromised & that’s why I’m dedicated to helping you protect what matters most! 🗣️💫

Your voice is how you advocate for yourself in a doctor’s appointment.

It’s how you tell your child you love them.

It’s how you share ideas that might change someone’s perspective.

It’s how you express joy, comfort others, and stand up for what’s right.

When patients come to me having lost their voice, I see the frustration in their eyes - the feeling of being silenced, of losing a fundamental part of their identity.

THIS is why I’m passionate about voice care as & not just the treatment!
