The Medicare Advantage & Prescription Drug Plan Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is NOW!

Question: What is the difference between Medigap (Medicare Supplement) and a Medicare Advantage plan?

A Medigap plan is designed to fill the gaps of original Medicare, which is made up of Medicare Part A (Hospitalization) and Medicare Part B (Medical Services). It has deductibles and co-insurance but does not cover prescription medications. This is why many people on original Medicare purchase a Medigap plan and may also purchase a Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plan.

Medicare Advantage plans are private Medicare plans that have a contract with the government. These plans’ benefits must be at least comparable to original Medicare, and many feature additional benefits beyond those covered by original Medicare, often including a Prescription Drug plan for no additional charge.

Be sure to review your Medicare insurance plan’s Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) letter. For assistance, visit MedicareOnDemand.com/Portneuf or call the Helpline toll-free to speak with a licensed insurance agent at 855-342-3629, TTY 711. *MedicareOnDemand is a non-government platform

We celebrated Pharmacy Technician Day on the 21st as part of Pharmacy Week! At PMC, our pharmacy technicians are the workhorses of the pharmacy department. They focus on compounding, packaging and dispensing medications, keeping the sterile environment clean, answering phones, delivering medications, gathering patient medication histories and keeping track of hospital inventory and medication outdates. We couldn't operate effectively without them!

Our Story

Portneuf Health Partners are improving lives and transforming medicine locally and around the region. In our 109 year history we have grown from a single hospital location to an advanced network of care. While our medical center has a strong focus on heart, cancer, neurology, orthopedics and women’s care, collectively, we continue to provide quality emergency care, imaging, primary and specialty care along with a wide range of health and wellness education opportunities. Around here, we take care of our own. We look out for our families and help our neighbors. So when we see way to improve healthcare, we are right on it. Because we deserve the best care available. Today, Portneuf Health Partners includes the joint venture between Portneuf Health Trust, Ardent Health Services and a robust network of providers including Portneuf Medical Center, Portneuf Quality Alliance, Portneuf Sports Medicine Institute and numerous physician practices. Together, we’re on a mission for better health, working together to deliver a higher level of care and a healthier community for us all.
