This is so hard for me to post. Because of some health issues I’m trying to figure out, I have decided to step away from the Postpartum Haven. All future support groups and classes are cancelled until further notice. This is a hard decision, but I know it’s what’s best for my family right now.

Motherhood has taught me that I will never stop learning. Each day with my five children humbles me, stretches me, and teaches me something new. I’m always learning about patience, grace, forgiveness, and love. They teach me how to be a better mother just by being themselves.

Because of them, I see my own mother in a new light. I see the sacrifices she made, the love she poured out when no one was watching. Motherhood has opened my heart to a deeper appreciation for her, and for all the mothers who have quietly built families with strength and tenderness.

Motherhood has connected me to something bigger. There is a silent bond between mothers everywhere. In every tired, joyful, overwhelmed face, I recognize pieces of my own journey. We are never alone in this work.

As a doula, I have the honor of witnessing mothers step into their power, one birth and one heartbeat at a time. I’m grateful for every woman who trusts me to walk beside her in those sacred moments.

I will never forget my first birth as a doula *a Mother's Day birth* That day I watched not just a baby, but a mother, being born. It’s a memory that changed me forever.

Motherhood has taught me that this journey isn’t about perfection. it’s about showing up with love every single day. It is the most humbling, messy, and beautiful gift I will ever be given. And for that, I am forever grateful.

Dear New Mama,

Today is a day you may have dreamed about. Or maybe you never really thought about it until you found yourself cradling this tiny life that has changed everything. This is your first Mother’s Day. Not because of a card or flowers or because someone says it’s official. But you feel it. Because you have stayed up when the world slept, whispering lullabies in the dark. Because you have loved through exhaustion, doubt, and breathtaking joy. Because YOU are already everything your baby needs.

Motherhood doesn’t come all at once when your baby is born. It settles quietly into your life through the sleepless nights, the tiny fists wrapped around your finger, and the million unseen choices you make every day. And even when you can’t see it yet, even when you wonder if you’re doing enough, YOU ARE.

Today, I hope you pause for just a moment. Not to judge yourself, not to measure yourself against anything or anyone else, but simply to notice you are a mother. You are doing holy work. You are growing and learning right alongside your baby. And you deserve to be celebrated. You give the kind of love that shows up, messy and tired, over and over again.

So today, wherever you are, whether still carrying your baby inside you, rocking them in your arms, or chasing their tiny feet across the floor, I hope you feel the deep, fierce, world-changing truth: You are enough. You are beautiful. You are a mother. And you are so, so loved.

Motherhood is more than a title. It’s the everyday choice to love, nurture, and lift another soul. This weekend, we celebrate every woman who has mothered. We honor those who mother in joy, in grief, in quiet ways the world may never notice but heaven surely does.
