✨ NEW BLOG POST ✨

Congratulations to NAHA President, Annette Davis on her Interview with Ildiko Berecz which was published originally in Aromatika Magazine (2026, 13.1). 🌿

"The term “aromatherapy” was coined by René-Maurice Gattefossé in the 1930s and first appeared in print with the publication of his book, Aromathérapie: Les Huiles Essentielles, Hormones Végétales in French, first published in English in 1993.

Many enthusiastic and professional people—coming from a scientific background or not—lay out the path for education and popularising aromatherapy in the coming decades. We experience a changing world around us with many challenges and changing trends in and around our beloved “therapy” that was initially built on the healing properties of essential oils.

With a newer generation evolving, we wanted to know about the individuals—or we can call them pioneers or GIANTS—who worked effortlessly to get this field accepted.

In this edition, Aromatika editor Ildikó Berecz interviewed American aromatherapist, educator Annette Davis, who started her aromatherapy career since she was 18, including service as NAHA President since 2015.

Having her major studies with Dr Jean Claude Lapraz, she continues to popularise endobiogeny and her successful enterprise Time Laboratories."

Harnessing Holistic Healing: The Role of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy
with Dr. Traci Patterson

"Essential oils can be a transformative piece of harnessing holistic healing in chronic pain patients.

Did you know in 2004 the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was jointly awarded to Richard Axel and Linda B. Buck for their discoveries of “odorant receptors and the organization of the olfactory system”? Yes, essential oils can also be used to work with neuroplasticity!

The integration of essential oils has been shown to alleviate various psychological and physiological symptoms, including anxiety, depression, fatigue, sleep disorders, neuropathic pain, nausea, and menopausal symptoms.

Join me to learn about a transformative approach to treating chronic pain and how essential oils and aromatherapy can be incorporated.

Meet Dr. Patterson:

Dr. Traci Patterson is an accomplished clinician and healthcare executive with global expertise in advancing breakthroughs for the treatment of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and complex chronic pain via integrative and holistic protocols. Awarded Top 10 Visionary Leader, CEO of the Year, Top 100 Most Inspirational Leaders, Health Activist Awards and Best Holistic Pain Specialist.

Dr. Patterson is redefining the future of healthcare innovation through bridging the gap between traditional treatments and integrative protocols for those living with complex chronic pain. Her bold stance drives breakthroughs in unlocking viable evidence based, non-invasive and drug free treatment options for diagnoses such as CRPS, Fibromyalgia, CSS, and AMPS.

Dr. Patterson’s expertise is unique from a perspective that few if any other physician, clinician, or practitioner can offer. Her background as a chronic pain patient diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and is now treating other chronic pain patients is rare. She has patients (pediatrics to geriatrics) which contact her globally, searching for answers and relief. Her commitment to excellence has earned her numerous awards.

Her academic foundation includes – MD (University of California Irvine Medical), MBA (University of Phoenix), Certified in Clinical Hypnosis (NGH / American School of Hypnosis), Instructor Clinical Hypnosis (NGH / American School of Hypnosis), and Honorary Doctorate in Naturopathy (LADC)."
