Peer Support Cuts in idaho.

Many of our clients and collegues are aware that Idaho is making significant cuts to the medicaid budget to correct an overage of $55 million + in medicaid spending.

I believe in our government being fiscally responsible and I am grateful for the effots. However, providers were not included in these decisions and we should have been.

I have writtin multiple emails and posts on the subject but there are two that I feel hit the highlights as to why Peer Support should not be eliminated for adults in Idaho.

This powerful, beautiful, intelligent, loyal woman has been with Hope Tree since 2007. She has done so much to help mold who our company is today. She has been an important part of laying a foundation of a program that truly is one of the most collaborative and grounded mental health programs in south east Idaho.

Shelby will continue to work with Hope Tree behind the scenes, but has the opportunity to travel and support her partner in his career goals so you won't see her smiling face every day at the office.

I just have to send a shout out to my amazing staff. I have been gone quite a bit these past few months and we have had so much need amongst our clients of late. After shooting off some emails this evening, I am reminded that I am blessed. I have such kind, dedicated, humble, cheerful people in my circle offering the best support and care out there. While doing some family research, I found a record of the Historic Building that we are located in:

Spaulding Building (Formerly the Carlson Building)

Built in 1919, the five-story brick Carlson Building was designed by architect James Chesebro of Salt Lake City. The large office building was rendered in the Sullivanesque style with the first-floor store fronts visually separated from the higher floors, which have lintel-type window bands. The building originally had a large tin cornice that has been either covered or replaced by a neonlit plastic cornice.

In 1927 the building contained many businesses and offices, including the Worel Flower Shop, Pocatello Flour Mills, Railway Mill Service, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Other than alteration of the cornice and first-floor store fronts, the building appears unchanged.

In 1965, Bob Spaulding purchased the Carlson Building and renamed it the Spaulding Building which was southeast Idaho's largest office structure.
