PROMPT: The stress of knowing you have to do something can sometimes be even more difficult than actually doing the thing, whether it be a work or house project, a speech, a new fitness routine, or any other big challenge or change.

But once you begin doing the thing, even if it's something you don't relish doing, you usually feel so much better than you did when you were just anticipating it.

You gain the confidence to see that yes, you can do it.

PROMPT: Applying a face mask is a lovely home spa activity. It does wonders for your skin, while giving you the opportunity to sit and be still. You can easily make masks from the ingredients in your kitchen.

For instance, honey mixed with cool chamomile tea is gently soothing, and banana mashed with warm coconut oil is deeply hydrating.

If you put cucumber slices over your eyes, you'll have a good reason not to do anything, but sit and breathe, try out a few recipes, and write down your results.

PROMPT: Massaging your own head is a great way to manage a headache or to take a moment to relax, especially if you carry your tension in this part of your body.

Place your thumbs on your cheekbones by your ears and your index and middle fingers on your temples, using gentle pressure massage in a circular motion, moving slowly from your temples across your forehead, until your fingers meet and then move back to your temples.

PROMPT: A great way to check in with yourself is with a body - scan meditation. Sit comfortably with your eyes closed. Focus on your breath. When you begin to feel calm, check in with each part of your body from the crown of your head to your toes.

PROMPT: Show your skin a little love with an invigorating exfoliating scrub. You can get a natural scrub at any local health or beauty store, or you can whip up your own by combining sea salt and coconut oil, along with your favorite essential oil or some citrus zest. As you exfoliate, be mindful that you're doing something loving for yourself.
