Rivers Health

Rivers Health A member of Marshall Health Network, Rivers Health is a 101-bed, not-for-profit facility. PVH also operates numerous medical clinics.

Established in 1959 as a 40-bed private, not-for-profit community hospital, Pleasant Valley Hospital today has developed into something much more...

We are a not-for-profit healthcare system that provides community-oriented healthcare for Mason and Jackson counties in West Virginia and the counties of Gallia and Meigs in Ohio. This 101-bed facility offers a full spectrum of services and includes a 101-bed acute care facility, wellness center (open to the public), and more. General services are provided to the community including radiology, emergency medicine, inpatient and outpatient surgery, neurology, sleep studies, ophthalmology, orthopedics, oncology/hematology, otolaryngology, women's health and a full-range of therapy and rehabilitation services. Radiology services include CT, Vantage Orian MRI with Theater and Pianissimo noise reducing technology, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and 3-D digital mammography. We are extending care well beyond the doors of the hospital, offering alternative care options, emergency treatment of major and minor injuries and illness and preventive care and fitness programs. Pleasant Valley Hospital is truly a resource center for our community's healthcare needs.

The Mountaineers 4-H Club from Point Pleasant teamed up with the Rivers Health Case Management Department to assemble take-home bags filled with non-perishable food. These bags are provided to patients facing food insecurity at discharge, helping ensure they return home with at least three days of nourishing meals.

A heartfelt thank you to these incredible volunteers for helping care extend beyond our hospital walls and into the community. 💙🥫

You wouldn't ignore your smoke detector - so don't ignore your lungs.

Lung cancer symptoms are easy to brush off... until they're not!

Signs to take seriously:
- A cough that won't go away
- Coughing up blood
- Chest pain or shortness of breath
- Hoarseness or wheezing

If everyday activities leave you short of breath, it's time to talk to a provider and get screened.

❄️ Stay Safe in the Winter Chill

Cold temperatures can take a toll on your health faster than you think. Limit your time outdoors, dress in warm layers, and watch for signs of frostbite or hypothermia like numbness, shivering or pale skin.

If you’re clearing snow, take breaks and listen to your body — overexertion can increase your risk of injury or heart strain.

If you need care, Marshall Health Network is ready to help with urgent care and emergency services available when you need them most.

Stay warm, stay safe and take good care of yourself and each other. 💚

Stay safe this winter! Frostbite can happen fast, so keep your skin protected as your body’s first line of defense. ❄️🧤

If you suspect frostbite, warm the affected areas slowly using warm water or body heat, avoid direct heat sources and seek care if the skin stays discolored or blisters form.

Be prepared, stay safe and enjoy the season. 🎄
