Spring is here, and so are ticks. As you head outside, stay tick aware!

Prevent bites by wearing sleeves, pants and socks, using repellent and avoiding tall grass. After going outside, always check your neck, under arms, waist, knees and thighs. If you find a tick on you, remove it with tweezers, clean the area, and watch for symptoms of Lyme disease.

Getting outside is one of the best parts of spring, so remember to take these few extra precautions to enjoy the season safely.

It’s World Sleep Day, a reminder that quality sleep is one of the most important parts of your overall health. From improving heart health and memory to supporting your immune system and mood, getting enough restful sleep plays a critical role in how you feel each day.

If you’re constantly tired, snoring heavily or struggling to stay asleep, it may be time to talk with your primary care provider about a sleep evaluation referral.

Recognizing the symptoms of measles early is important in preventing the spread of this highly contagious disease.

Measles often starts with symptoms like fever, cough, runny nose and red, watery eyes, followed by a distinct rash that typically begins on the face and spreads to the rest of the body.

If you or your child develops symptoms consistent with measles, contact your primary care provider before visiting a clinic or hospital.

Please join us in congratulating Cruz Lies for being awarded the Winslow Nichols Leadership Award!

Cruz embodies the character, leadership and dedication this award represents. As a senior at Polson High School, he has earned numerous academic honors, including the Principal’s Award, Summa Cum Laude recognition with a 3.9 GPA, and AP Merit Distinction, completing an impressive seven AP classes.

As captain of the Polson soccer team, Cruz also helped lead the Pirates to their first-ever state championship.

Beyond these accomplishments, Cruz is known for his compassion, humility and strong moral character, qualities that make this recognition especially meaningful. This honor is well deserved. Congratulations, Cruz!

Colorectal cancer has long been thought to be a disease that primarily affects older adults. However, recent studies show increasing rates among younger people. In 2025, one in five people diagnosed with colorectal cancer were under the age of 55.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer when detected early through routine screening. Screening tests can identify precancerous polyps before they develop into cancer, and early-stage colorectal cancer is highly treatable.
