Booker T. Washington believed freedom required responsibility. Through education, skilled work, and character, he built the Tuskegee Institute and rejected the idea that progress comes from resentment or blame.

In Up From Slavery, his life contrasts sharply with what I explore in my upcoming book, Fear Is a Liar: how fear of the unknown triggers the One-Up response—dividing people into rivals instead of partners.

His legacy still challenges us to ask whether unity is built through effort and responsibility, or quietly undone by fear-based entitlement.

Srikanth Bolla was born blind into poverty in rural India. He was denied admission to schools, labeled unfit for education, and urged toward institutionalization. But his parents refused that verdict—and he learned anyway.

When every door in India closed, he applied abroad and became the first blind student admitted to MIT. He later returned home to build Bollant Industries, a multi-million-dollar company employing hundreds of people, many with disabilities society had dismissed.

This story isn’t about inspiration—it’s about clarity.

Fear often presents itself as truth, authority, or realism. In reality, it is frequently wrong. That insight is central to my upcoming book, Fear Is a Liar, which explores how fear quietly shapes decisions and limits potential.

Srikanth Bolla’s life reminds us that vision is not about sight—it’s about resolve.

Most people know Amazing Grace as a beautiful song.
Fewer know it was written by someone who spent years facing the weight of his own past.

After surviving a violent storm at sea, he walked away physically alive—but emotionally changed. What followed was not instant redemption, but a long reckoning with guilt, responsibility, and the question of whether a person can truly become more than their worst choices.

That question sits at the center of my upcoming book Fear Is a Liar. Fear convinces us that our past defines us and that change is impossible. Growth begins when that story loosens its grip.

This isn’t about belief.
It’s about honesty, responsibility, and the possibility of change.

Charles Schulz didn’t become Charles Schulz by being fearless.
He became Charles Schulz by trusting something deeper.

Shy. Insecure. Quiet.
Rejected for being too subtle. Too sad. Too human.
Even success didn’t erase his self-doubt.

What sustained him wasn’t confidence—it was belief.
Faith that his voice mattered, even when no one else seemed to agree.
Trust in something larger than approval, trends, or noise.

That quiet trust shaped Charlie Brown—the kid who kept trying, even when he expected to fail—and it eventually gave millions of people permission to feel seen.

Fear didn’t disappear.
It just stopped being in charge.

This idea sits at the heart of my upcoming book, Fear Is a Liar—about learning to move forward with clarity, faith, and trust, even when fear insists you shouldn’t.

Sometimes the voice the world almost silences is the one it ends up needing most.

No matter what you do, someone will always have an opinion.
But the real critic isn’t out there—it’s inside you. It’s what I call the Automatic Brain—the primitive part of us that sees judgment, rejection, and uncertainty as danger.

It’s the reason that no matter what you do, it may never feel right.
It’s why peace feels uncomfortable, and why approval never feels like enough.

My forthcoming book, Fear Is a Liar: From Fight or Flight to Clarity, Peace, and Trust, shows how to break free from that reflex and choose the voice of the Mind—the calm, truthful, divinely connected part of you that doesn’t need to prove anything.

Because fear will twist truth into threat.
But love never lies.

Early one morning in a D.C. subway station, a man stood playing six Bach pieces on his violin.

Nearly two thousand commuters passed by. Only six stopped to listen. Twenty tossed in a few dollars.

No one realized it was Joshua Bell — one of the world’s greatest musicians — performing on a $3.5-million violin.

Same man. Same music. Different setting.

Sometimes what’s extraordinary goes unnoticed simply because we’re moving too fast to see it.
