Cal Poly Pomona Yoga Club

Cal Poly Pomona Yoga Club S.S.F.A. Yoga Alliance is a Cal Poly Pomona student organized club open to students, staff, faculty, We really mean it! Come let go and play.

Our classes are taught by some of the best yoga instructors in the area. Our instructors are Gina Commesso, Chelley Webb, Eileen Berbeo and Scott Winslow. Monday- Chelley: Gentle floor stretches held for longer durations in order to condition and nourish connective tissue. Tuesday- Gina: A meditative style of Yoga with the incorporation of Pranayama (breathing techniques) that welcomes all levels from the novice to the advanced. We also focus on precision and alignment to repair and heal the body through Iyangar Yoga, while using a steady flow to lift the heart rate and tap into that fat burning zone with Vinyasa Yoga. Wednesday- Build strength, balance and body awareness! Focus is on pranayama and abdominal work to create a strong core, as well as instruction in correct alignment for safety of joints and spine. Classes will include the use of props and modifications to create the most benefit from each pose, and will build up to more challenging poses and sequences as the quarter progresses. Different schools of yoga asana will be explored. Thursday- Scott: All level Vinyasa Flow class that emphasizes fun, breath and mindful movement to enhance energy, grounding and meditation.
