Not all stress can be removed… but it can be managed.

This was one of the biggest takeaways from our March 19 roundtable community session.

Some situations you simply can’t walk away from like work, family, and responsibilities. Real life doesn’t always give you that option. But what you can control is how your body responds.

Because stress doesn’t just stay in your mind it builds up in your body if it’s not released.

That’s why simple things matter more than people think: walking, journaling, talking to someone, praying, or even taking intentional quiet time. It’s not about doing everything perfectly—it’s about not letting it pile up.

💬 Here is one key reminder I'd like to share:
You don’t need to control everything.
You just need to take care of what you can control.

Most people think healing is complicated.

But in my practice, I look at four things first:
How you sleep.
How you eat.
How you move.
And how you manage stress.

These four areas tell me more about your health than most people realise.

I’ve worked with patients from all over the world from everyday families to high performers and the truth is the same for everyone: the body isn’t complicated, it’s complex. When you address the root, healing becomes possible.

Over 50 years ago, a law was passed in the U.S. requiring newborn screening for sickle cell disease.

And yet… many families still slip through the cracks.

That means people grow up not knowing they carry the trait, not understanding their risks, and sometimes not discovering it until serious complications appear.

What’s even more concerning is that many still believe sickle cell only affects one group of people so testing and awareness don’t happen where they should.

When I speak at conferences even at places like Harvard—I ask one simple question: “Who here knows someone with sickle cell?”
And in rooms of thousands, hands go up everywhere.

So the real question becomes:
If so many people know someone affected… why is awareness still so low?

Education and testing are the first steps to changing outcomes.

Share this to spread awareness, and follow for more conversations that need to be happening about sickle cell.

“Sickle cell is a Black disease.”

That’s one of the biggest misconceptions I still hear.

My first sickle cell patients?
Four siblings. Fully Italian.

Since then, I’ve worked with families from Spain, Portugal, South America, India—and many other parts of the world. In fact, India has one of the largest populations of sickle cell and thalassemia globally.

Sickle cell is not confined to one race. It’s not a “small population issue.” It’s a global genetic condition that has been misunderstood and misrepresented for decades.

When we limit the narrative, people who don’t “fit the stereotype” don’t get tested, don’t get diagnosed early, and don’t get the care they need.

Awareness saves lives.
Education changes outcomes.

Share this with someone who still believes sickle cell only affects one community. And follow for more real conversations about sickle cell that don’t get talked about enough.

Our bodies are complex but not complicated. We stop listening because we are lazy, and stubborn. While getting sicker and sicker.

No physician, guru or naturopath can know you better than you.. just learn to LISTEN!!

Our understanding of health is based on which influencer we follow. We have lost our innate ability to discern our own symptoms.

The more we read.. the less we know.

Let's refocus on our introspection and self care.
