The #1 tip from a sickle cell mom to fellow parents!

Aberiel is a mom of two sickle cell warriors. Just like every parent, she went through a roller coaster of emotions after learning of her children's condition. But instead of letting SCD take the reigns of their life, she took over and found a way - Dr. Charlie Ware.

After years of working with me, Aberiel and her kids are leading normal and healthy lives. Yes, sickle cell pain and crisis still happen, but they are more than equipped to face these challenges with everything they've learned and gained over the years.

A common misconception is that treating sickle cell disease only involves traditional methods like blood transfusions and gene therapy. Are you falling into this trap?

This narrow focus can limit your overall health improvements and fail to address all aspects of symptom management. You might think these methods should be enough because they’re standard treatments. However, focusing only on these can overlook other beneficial approaches.

Instead, consider holistic methods that treat your entire body. This approach can enhance your health and more effectively manage symptoms.

If you’re ready to explore a holistic approach then let me coach you on your sickle cell journey!

If you think healthy swaps are boring and hard then you might be doing it wrong!❌

I get it - the idea of swapping your favorite foods for healthier options can seem intimidating or downright difficult. But here’s the thing: it doesn’t have to be! 🤷🏾

Instead of thinking of healthy swaps as a chore, look at it this way: it's an opportunity to discover new flavors and foods that your body will love just as much as your taste buds. 🌱✨

Here are a few tips to make healthy swaps more sustainable and even enjoyable:

👉🏽Start small: Swap out one ingredient at a time—like using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
👉🏽Keep it simple: Don’t overhaul your entire diet at once. Make one or two swaps per week.
👉🏽Experiment with flavors: Try different herbs, spices, or cooking methods to make healthy foods more exciting.
👉🏽Focus on your favorites: Swap healthier options into meals you already love. You’ll be more likely to stick with it!

Give these tips a try, and you might just find that healthy swaps aren’t just good for you—they’re fun for your palette too! 😋✨

Setbacks are a normal part of a journey. I had one today however it's not the setback that is the concern, it's my next reaction that will decide how it goes.
A health journey isn't a straight line. Some days you may be able to do all the things in yoir routine, take all yoir herbs or even eat the cleanest but you don't give up.

You keep going because this one day doesn't define your journey. This is why I hate cheat days.. that term ruins diets and health more than most know.

Keep going despite not being 100% on target, keep going despite feeling as if you failed. Because you have not, you simply tested toir limits.. keep going!!

Do you wonder why you have a bloated belly? Here's one reason you might not expect...

You're eating meals in the car! 🚗🍽️ Studies show that multitasking while eating can hinder nutrient absorption, leading to constipation and gut stagnation. This can increase mucus production and inflammation in the gut.

Whenever you're on the go, make sure to sit down for your meals to ensure proper digestion and nutrient absorption. 🥗✨

Let's prioritize mindful eating, especially when on the move, to keep our gut health in check!
