After a long winter (and some very patient waiting for the ground to thaw), we’re happy to share that construction has officially begun on replacing our front portico following the unfortunate school bus incident back in October.

This week, the first steps are underway as new footings are being prepared for the rebuilt structure. We’re grateful to finally be moving forward and excited to restore and improve the entrance here at Scanlan’s.

Over the next few weeks you may notice a little extra dust, noise, and construction activity when visiting us. Please excuse the disruption as we work to make our space even more welcoming for the families we serve.

And a special thank you to Thor and the crew for getting things started today. We look forward to sharing progress along the way!

Grief touches every member of a family - including children.

At Scanlan’s, we believe young hearts deserve care, understanding, and space to process loss in their own way. That’s why we’ve thoughtfully created support specifically for children, from our dedicated Children’s Room to resources that help families navigate difficult moments together.

We also partner with Include Me Too to provide Certified Child Life Specialists during visitations, offering gentle guidance and age-appropriate support when families need it most.

In our newest blog, we share how we help children feel safe, supported, and included when saying goodbye and why that matters so deeply - link below.
