Merry Christmas from all of us at Greenbriar Pharmacy, your Top 3 Best of Denton county pharmacy 4 out of the last 5 years! (We just found out recently we were Top 3 again!). We will be open 9 AM - 3 PM on Christmas Eve, December 24, closed on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, and open normal hours on Friday and Saturday, 9-6, and 9-2, respectively. Greenbriar Pharmacy will be closed on Thursday, November 27, 2025 in observance of Thanksgiving Day! On Friday, November 28, we will have shortened hours of 9 AM - 4 PM. We will have normal hours on Wednesday and Saturday.
Also, we have the new Covid shot, and both the High Dose and Regular Flu shots, while supplies last. And, as noted yesterday, we have a whole new supply of candles in stock while supplies last!

Medicare Part D Prescription Plan Enrollment Period Begins Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

This period runs October 15 through December 7 each year.

During this time you can:

Join, switch, or drop a Part D plan
If you’re on Original Medicare, add or change drug coverage
If you’re on Medicare Advantage, switch drug plans if needed

Any changes you make during that window take effect January 1 of 2026.

I know you have been bombarded with information, mailers, and the like, but simply put that aside and try this approach first. Most people do not need an insurance agent to perform this task.

I perform this function every year for my 90 year old mother in the exact same way, and I find it very simple to you, as I believe you will too!

Simply go to:

https://www.medicare.gov/plan-compare

You can enroll from this website and have your premiums taken straight out of your Social Security checks each month.

Please reach out to anyone who is struggling with this process. It is really quite simple when you have the person's drug list and Medicare number in hand. After that, plug in the information and find plans from which you can choose. If one of the medications you take is a brand-name only medication, and you wish to continue on that medication, pay special attention to drug coverage and prior authorizations for that particular drug. If you only use generics on a regular basis, simply find the cheapest plans, with the highest Star Rating.

Flu Shots and Covid Shots are in stock! We have the newest Covid shot (Pfizer brand) and we have both the standard Flu Shot and the High Dose version (ages 65 and older) available without a prescription, free with most insurance plans. We can administer Covid shots to anyone aged 14 and over, and Flu shots to anyone 7 and older. Walk-ins are welcomed, no appointment is necessary. OCTOBER 2, 2025. GREENBRIAR PHARMACY IS FULLY UP AND FUNCTIONAL, INCLUDING PHONE! BRIGHTSPEED, after repair of a local fiber cut, returned us and many other businesses back to operation. We have successfully returned all software and over 50 types of hardware from backup systems to normal functioning. We will continue to fill acute medications first, then get to the maintenance medications after that. We sincerely apologize again for any inconvenience this has caused. Our backup systems are working just fine. We are OPEN FOR BUSINESS and we HAVE been open, but unfortunately, BUSINESS INCOMING TELEPHONE CALLS ARE DOWN. ALL OTHER SYSTEMS ARE WORKING, INCLUDING ELECTRONIC RX'S AND OUTGOING TEXT MESSAGES. Therefore, for the time being, you can not call into the pharmacy. We are so sorry for the inconvenience. We are operating right now as a virtual pharmacy.
