Everyone loves the highlight numbers BUT the real game is: timing, cash flow, and not letting the bank rush you into bad decisions. Startup costs aren’t just “build it and open.” They’re unpredictable, and full of decisions that seriously affect your stress level later. Knowing when to use debt, when to use cash, and when to slow yourself down is part of being a good clinician and a good owner. BC yes- Ownership isn’t just dentistry, it’s strategy. It’s patience. It’s entrepreneurship, and that often looks like spreadsheets. And sometimes it looks like building cabinets with your friends because 2020 said figure it out.. 😅 If you’re dreaming about ownership (or already in it), I’m sharing what I wish someone had broken down for me earlier.. the real decisions behind the scenes, not just the glossy ones.
Drop your questions for the next Ask Dr. Le episode bc there’s a lot more coming.

There’s no right answer.
People ask me all the time if there’s a right way to become a practice owner.
Startup or acquisition.
The truth? There isn’t. There are just choices you live with.
Startup means building what you can already see in your head. The way the space feels. The way patients move through it. The way your days look. It also means trusting yourself long before anything feels stable.
Acquisition can give you momentum. Patients, cash flow, a team in place. But you’re stepping into patterns and systems you didn’t design, and that matters more than most people expect.
This isn’t about which path is harder.
It’s about which one fits the life you’re actually building.
Do your research. Know your numbers. Ask the uncomfortable questions.
I’m curious- if you’re a practice owner (or on your way), did you choose startup or acquisition? What was the biggest pro… and the hardest con?
And if you’re still deciding, what’s the one question holding you back right now?

Stay in the tunnel.
Build when everyone else waits for “the right time.”
Don’t shrinking the dream just bc others can’t see it.
During COVID they said:
“Don’t start a business right now / open a fee-for-service practice / hire a hygienist yet / expand. Play it safe.”
Good thing I never built my life around small advice.
I launched my practice w/ no website, no marketing agency -just a blank Google Doc, a vision, and ground marketing that had me outside talking to strangers about dentistry like my life depended on it. Bc it did.
Now:
🦷 My dream practice
✨ Branded facial esthetics result: Le Face Card
👥 A team that performs in their genius (& grows with me)
📈 Milestones they said were “too ambitious for a startup”
🎓 L’Academy helping other practice owners build theirs
🧩 Sophie: the operating software I created so other dentists don’t burn out building what I built
People see the rooms I’m in now, the brands I’m building, the life I’m stepping into… but they forget I spent decades in my paid-my-full era -working 4 clinical days a week, traveling + teaching 2 days, building systems on my off days, and reinvesting everything back.
I didn’t get here by being realistic.
I got here by being relentless.
Prayer and vision opened the door.
Ex*****on built the entire room.
& now we’re building the whole ecosystem.
We’re just getting started. 🤍
What dream are you refusing to shrink in 2026? 👇

This year I soaked up my “my friends treat me better than that” and “I’d rather be with my girls” era -and honestly, it taught me everything I needed to know about love, standards, and the kind of energy I want around me.
I dated myself.
I dated my friends.
And it made me so intentional about the kind of friend I am too -the way I communicate, the softness I lead with, the effort I pour in.
Multi-decade friendships don’t just happen.
They’re built, watered, and protected.
And the older I get, the more I realize friendship is one of life’s greatest returns.
Here’s to choosing people who choose you back,
and soaking up every season while you’re in it -bc these are the chapters we won’t get twice.

When you’re choosing what events to partner with as a business, the goal is simple: put yourself in rooms filled with MORE of your people.
And y’all… this pilates-loving, cold-plunging, matcha-sipping community?
This is so our people. 🤍
Wellness, community, and intentional living are exactly what stands for -so being at felt like plugging straight into our heartbeat. The vibes were aligned, the conversations were easy, and the energy was exactly the lifestyle we believe in on and off the mat.
We even gave out $100 gift cards because the baddies deserved a little something special. 😌✨
If you know any communities, studios, or brands we should collaborate with next, tag them below! We love connecting with people who value health, wellness, confidence, and feeling their absolute best.
& tell us… where should we pop up next?
We’re trying to give the baddies what they need: a confidence boost, a wellness moment, and a whole lot of Le Face Card energy. 🫶✨

Simpler times for sure ❤️. But don’t discount these stepping stones, it built you. What jobs did you work before entering your career?

Where my cool, calm, collected girls at…
the ones who never wanted to “make things weird.” Who walked on eggshells, read every room before they entered it, and made themselves small to keep the peace.
Girls who were praised for being “mature for their age” or “easy to be around” often become hypervigilant -constantly managing other people’s emotions, bc somewhere along the way, love started to feel conditional.
My friends would literally ask, “I can’t tell if you’re mad, happy, or sad.” I was once in the car with my then-bf’s sister and she had me practice yelling bc I didn’t know how lol.
But being calm doesn’t always mean being at peace. Sometimes it means you’ve been surviving quietly.
& one day, you’ll find it so healing when you finally say:
“hey, I think…”
“actually, I disagree.”
“that didn’t feel right to me.”
& realize IT WASN’T THE END OF THE WORLD.
To the girl who kept loving and showing up for people the way you hoped others would do for you:
Let this be the season you pour that same love back into yourself.
Let it be the season you stop chasing being understood and start embracing being at peace.
You don’t have to earn love by overgiving.
You don’t have to prove your worth through patience.
You don’t have to shrink to be chosen.
The right people will love you for you -not the filtered, careful, edited version, but the real, messy, brilliant, quirky version.
I hope you keep getting to know you.
& I hope you start falling in love with all the little quirks that make you, YOU.
The world doesn’t need another “perfect, obedient” girl. It needs you -honest, healing, and finally free.

With the skills of a dentist and the style of an artist, Dr. Le was drawn to dentistry by her desire to build relationships, serve the community, and inspire others to lead healthy lives. Her passion lies in helping patients achieve their goals -big or small -in and out of the dental chair. Dr. Le deeply values positive patient interaction and thrives when providing education, knowledge, and preventive care that keeps everyone looking and feeling their best.
Born in Hawaii and raised in Jacksonville, FL, Dr. Le is a graduate of the University of North Florida and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University (2017). It was during her schooling, as she observed multiple health fields and shadowed several dentists, that she realized patient relationships would be at the heart of her practice. As a practitioner with a growth mindset, Dr. Le furthered her work in the dental field in 2018 by joining the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics (AAFE) to further study facial anatomy and learn safe injectable techniques. Dr. Le excelled so highly in this venture that she now travels nationwide to train other dentists, as well as doctors, nurses and physicians assistants. She calls injectables the “sweet spot” of her profession, and loves how it allows patients to view dentistry in a different light.
This unique approach to apply a comprehensive, modern mindset to her practice matches Dr. Le’s vibrant and ambitious personality. When she’s not hustling to build her new dental business, Dr. Le loves to travel, try new foods with her fiance, and take walks with her 2 pups, Aiden and Maverick. As a testament to her active lifestyle, Dr. Le also enjoys biking at Jacksonville Beach, snowboarding in the Colorado mountains, and hiking up any mountain she can come across. Although she’s often on the go, Dr. Le still makes time to unwind because she truly believes in living with balance.
Dr. Le rises by lifting others. She volunteered at the Sulzbacher Center when she was a pre-dental student and continues to volunteer at the dental clinic until this day where she provides dental care for our homeless population. She also has partnered with and volunteers with Daniel Kids helping at-risk teenagers safely transition into independent living.
As a person and a professional, Dr. Le is excited to share these passions with patients, learn about each individual’s goals, and work hard to help others lead happy, healthy, and successful lives.
