William M. Kallas, age 77, of Pontiac, IL, passed away unexpectedly in the warmth of his home on the evening of Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Cremation rights have been accorded. A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac, IL. Father Robert Rayson will be officiating. Bill was born on October 12, 1948, in Chicago to Gregory Kallas and Margaret Norris. He married Kathleen Roche on July 12, 1969 in Loretto, IL. She survives in Pontiac, IL.

Other survivors include his beloved children: Deb (Bob) Adcock, Kristi (Eric) Wright of Pontiac, and Jeff (Nicole) Kallas of Chandler, AZ; his adored grandchildren Alex (Bree) Adcock, Tanner (Kianna) Wright, Andrew Adcock (Alexis), Madison (Gavin) Bauknecht, Aaron Adcock, Ellie Wright(Weiland), Jacob and Nathan Kallas; his blessed great-grandchildren Anna and Emma Adcock and Lane Wright. He is also survived by siblings Nick (Connie) Kallas, Ted Kallas, Mary Ann (Gary) Wright, Skip (Debi) Kallas, David Kallas, and Bob Kallas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; parents in-law; three brothers: Joe, Tim, and Chris; Sister-in-Law, Donna Frisella; and Brothers-in-law Wes Rothrock and Daho Archi.

After graduating from Saunemin High School in 1967, and serving his country in the United States Air Force, Bill joined the sales team at Gardner’s Sales and Service (KSR Equipment) where he was honored to work with all of his John Deere family for 45 years. His advice for his kids and grands was to be sure to find the job you “get” to go to, rather than a job you “have” to go to.

Bill was a sports enthusiast. Playing fast-pitch softball, coaching his childrens’ teams, working the chain gang for PTHS football, and participating in mens golf league were some of his favorite hobbies. These things were in a close second to his love for traveling with his high school sweetheart, and love of his life, Kathy. They enjoyed so many travel adventures together!

Bill was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was also an active Pontiac Elks member and a past Exalted Ruler. Bill was humbled to be the recipient the Agribusiness Person of the Year award in 2004. He served as an alderman for the City of Pontiac for over 40 years. He truly never knew a stranger and took pride in serving his community.

Above all, his greatest joy in life was his family. From cuddling on the couch, cheering from the bleachers, giving many golf cart rides, or sharing his wit and humor, we were all privileged to be his. Bill’s kind heart did not know a stranger and he spread his love and loyalty in all his actions. He was an avid golfer and spent as much time golfing after retirement as he could. Living and playing on the Pontiac Elks Golf Course was such a joy for him. Card club with his friends was also one of his favorite pastimes. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and called him family or friend. His family holds all of his stories and memories in their hearts and knows he is sharing them all with his buddies in the “board room” in heaven.

Memorials in Bill’s memory may be made to Pontiac Elks Scholarship Fund, St. Mary’s, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
