“In these days of political correctness…” talking about no longer making jokes that denigrated people for their culture or for the colour of their skin. And I thought, “That’s not actually anything to do with ‘political correctness’. That’s just treating other people with respect.”

Which made me oddly happy. I started imagining a world in which we replaced the phrase “politically correct” wherever we could with “treating other people with respect”, and it made me smile.

You should try it. It’s peculiarly enlightening.

COVID BURNOUT-HOW TO "EXCEL" @ WORK?

Just thought that I'd share some of my observations. Through my work with teachers and medical professionals, I have observed that one of the worst indicators for managing through covid seems to be one's drive to excel professionally. I've noticed that my career teachers and my medical people are faring far worse if they have set their performance bar high. Choosing to excel and to go above and beyond in their jobs have put them at a disadvantage during the pandemic. Currently, my cl's that are most successful are the ones that have geared back. For all my career, I've been so frustrated with laziness, lack of vision, and complacency. Who would have guessed that these are qualities beneficial to career survival. Also, who would have guessed how hard it is to achieve mediocrity?

I wish I would have spent more time on my phone, surfing social media, & playing electronic games ..... NOPE!!

Make your days count.
