We are so grateful for Aniqua! In hospice, caring for our patients also means caring for the community they live in. At Bridge Hospice, our volunteers and Volunteer Coordinator often find themselves supporting not just our patients, but their neighbors in assisted living—because compassion has no boundaries 💙

💅💖 Volunteer Love Spotlight 💖💅

Every Thursday, our hearts are a little fuller thanks to Nikki, our incredible Volunteer Coordinator from Bridge Hospice. Nikki goes above and beyond for our residents - offering gentle hand massages, beautiful nail painting, and most importantly, genuine conversation and connection.

She takes the time to truly know our residents, listen to their stories, and build meaningful relationships that brighten their days. That kind of care and compassion makes such a difference in our community.

Thank you, Nikki, for your kindness, your time, and your heart. We are so grateful for you - and we love you! 💕

👏✨ Way to go the extra mile for our residents and our community! ✨👏

💫 Get to Know the Heart

1. Where are you originally from, and what’s one thing you still love about it?
I am an Army brat, born in Japan. We left before I had a chance to experience it. But we did live on multiple bases, including two years in Hawaii. But most of my life was spent in Kentucky and attending the University of Kentucky. Lexington is a beautiful city.

2. What’s a hobby, interest, or activity you never get tired of?
I never get tired of fishing or golf. And the main reason I never get tired of them is that I don't get to do them often. I love my work and perhaps don't take enough time for me. Learning to fly a plane is next!

3. If you had a full day off with no responsibilities, how would you spend it?
That's hard to even imagine. Likely, I would sit on a beach somewhere and try to unwind and stop thinking about all that I need to do!

4. What’s one fun or surprising fact about you that most people don’t know?
I played the trumpet in high school and was fortunate enough to be in the Doc Severinsen (band director of the Tonight Show) youth orchestra.

5. What song, movie, or TV show can you watch or listen to over and over again?
I am more of a classics kind of guy, so Casablanca

6. In one sentence, what makes hospice work meaningful to you?
Being able to take care of my team. It's their job to take care of our patients, it's my job to take care of them! I love the impact they have had on so many families.
