Today is more than a hashtag or a quick shoutout on social media. International Women’s Day was created to recognize the strength, resilience, and contributions of women across the world. The day traces back to the early 1900s when women began organizing and protesting for basic rights such as fair wages, better working conditions, and the right to vote. One of the earliest movements was the 1908 march of garment workers in New York City, where thousands of women stood together demanding dignity and equality. By 1911, International Women’s Day was being celebrated across multiple countries, honoring the progress women were fighting to create.
Over time, the day has grown into a global moment of recognition. It celebrates not only political rights but also the ways women shape communities, families, businesses, and culture.
At Golden Root Yoga, we see that same spirit every single day. Women showing up for themselves. Women holding space for others. Women doing the inner work of healing, growth, and transformation.
Yoga has always been about empowerment from the inside out. The practice teaches us that strength is not only physical. It is emotional resilience, spiritual awareness, and the courage to evolve.
So today we celebrate the women who walk through our studio doors. Students, teachers, mothers, daughters, and friends. Each one carrying her own story and her own power.
To the women near and far who are creating, healing, leading, and lifting others along the way, we see you and we celebrate you.
