Yes breast is best in theory. But fed is best all the time. I personally struggled with breastfeeding my babies. And I will try again with my new son once he’s born. But if my body doesn’t cooperate that’s ok fed is best!

The pressure on a new mom to exclusively breastfeed led to the tragic death of her infant. She wants everyone to know: fed is best.

Were you told?

Did you know that your epidual likely contained Opioids or Narcotics such as Fentanyl?
In order to keep the amount of anesthetic in an epidural lower, Opioids or Narcotics are often added. Everything that you are given during labor crosses the placenta to the baby, so your baby would have had these drugs, too.
According to the American Pregnancy Association:
"Epidural medications fall into a class of drugs called local ANESTHETICS, such as bupivacaine, chloroprocaine, or lidocaine.
They are OFTEN delivered in combination with Opioids or Narcotics such as Fentanyl and sufentanil in order to decrease the required dose of local anesthetic."
When I received my epidural during my first birth, I was not told this. It may have changed my decision to have an epidural at all.

Babies aren’t a medical trophy! They are a miracle and should be treated as so.

Yes, they wonder why families are leaving hospital birth and choosing home birth.

A few days ago, posted this image. Most of yesterday, people were commenting on how horrific this photo is and what it depicts about the disrespect for the baby and mother. Needless to say, they took it down 🙌🏽

Dude. It’s a baby. Not a fish. Not a trophy. Not yours.
Cord severed too soon, skin to skin with mother truncated or not even facilitated at all, bright lights, cold room - all poor enough practice ... but holding the baby upside down?
Why.
If this is how the newborn is treated, makes me wonder about all the things they did to the mother - and all the things they didn't do ... prior to this.

What is a doulas role? How can a doula help your pregnancy and delivery be better?
*A doula is there for emotional support not only for the mother but also the father.
*A doula is there as a coach for the father to be more present in the experience of his wife bringing a new member to their family.

*A doula is there to reassure the mother that she is indeed able to go through this journey.

*A doula is there to make sure she and the father have all the information they need to be confident in making the choices they need for labor and delivery that is best for them and their child.

*A doula is there to help with natural pain management not only for labor and delivery but also for the pregnancy.

And couldn’t use some extra support in any aspect of their lives, but especially something so special as bringing a child into their family.

This is a great visual as to WHY chest clip placement is so important. The chest clip placement on the left does not keep the shoulder straps where they are meant to be, and could result in ejection from the car seat and cause internal injuries and bleeding to vital organs in the event of an accident. The placement on the right has the chest clip properly placed and the shoulder straps pulled taut, protecting the child from injuries.
Please note - the strap placement in this picture is for a forward facing child (straps should be level with or just above the child's shoulders). In a rear facing carseat the shoulder straps should be level with or just below the child's shoulders.
Please place your child's chest clip properly with the top of the chest clip at armpit level.
