Athletic Performance Evaluation-
What is it?
At Integrated Therapy Services we offer an evaluation for athletes of all ages designed to assess the Key components (strength, flexibility, Power and Endurance) of athletic performance and prescribe a home or monitored program to help Athletes meet their goals.
Who needs this service?
As Athletes (especially young ones) train and compete there are times that the core components of performance don't keep up with developing new skills and it leads to decreased performance or even worse injuries. By looking at all the musculoskeletal components of movement and addressing the found deficiencies we can improve performance and decrease risk of injury.
What does this look like? -Examples
You have a young and highly motivated gymnast that is working very hard to get their next skill. Sometimes compensations happen due to a young athlete lacking the power needed to complete the skill. Heath Willis, ATC, PTA and Stephanie Hendrix, PTA both were Collegiate level Cheerleaders and Stephanie a coach for many years. They will assess the athletes key components to performance and make an exercise prescription to address those needs, As well as looking at the sport specific skill (back handspring) looking for compensations or technique adjustments.
Or
You have a Baseball player that is having mild elbow pain with throwing. A Athletic performance evaluation would look into the strength, stability and ROM components necessary for proper throwing and prescribe a program designed to address noted deficits.
Or
A growing athlete notices that their legs are sore following practice and they seem to have lost a step in speed/ agility and power. Growing pains are real and easily address with a good stretching and strengthening program.
These are just a few examples, Feel free to reach out to the clinic (573) 712-2696 to discuss an Athletic Performance Examination. This a cash pay based service that does not require a physicians referral. Call this clinic for rates and availability.
