There are a lot of different things we can do to practice amazing self care!

One of my favorite things to do is to take a walk. If the weather isn't cooperative, some gentle stretching or yoga can be another way to get some movement going.

This doesn't have to be a long session. 20-30 is a good time frame I find. It’s long enough to disconnect from things and let my thoughts roam, without it feeling like a heavy exercise burden.

Figuring out ways to do selfcare that are meaningful to you is a very valuable way to keep your sanity when things get nuts out in the world.

There are a lot of different things we can do to practice amazing self care!

One of my favorite things to do is to take a walk.

And let's face it, getting out for some exercise of nearly any kind can help us burn off those cookie calories!

You don’t have to go for a long period of time. 30 minutes is a good time frame I find.

It’s long enough to disconnect from things and let my thoughts roam, without it feeling like a heavy exercise burden.

If you are trying to figure out what to do for YOU that is low cost, low impact, yet good for your physical & mental well being, taking a walk might be just the thing.

Here's an example of what I will call "Extreme Hoarding" and what it looked like before we started tackling this situation.

It's so very important to use your (personal protective equipment) such as appropriate N95 masks, gloves, coveralls and shoe covers.

Also, keep in mind, taking this on YOURSELF may not be the best option. However, given the cost of some of these clean outs - people often tackle this on their own.

It is definitely difficult both physically & mentally, it really can take a toll on every other aspect of your life.

Falls are a big issue, especially in our population over 65 years of age. Prevention is key and here are a few things you can do to work on fall prevention and reducing slip/trip/fall risk.

-Reduce clutter on the floor in your living space.
-Pick up small rugs, especially ones that slide around on the floor.
-Remove extension cords that run across walkways.
-Wear shoes that actually fit your feet well.
