About The Shack Come visit us at 626 Cut off Road for a unique shopping experience, healing therapies, and so much more. Relax and enjoy WiFi throughout the entire property as you enjoy all that we have to offer. OUR STORY: When we discovered the Shack in July 2017, it was a tiny place covered in pine trees. We were looking for a place that could allow everyone to quietly relax and heal in a peaceful space. With Port A’s recent growth, this seemed to be disappearing. With a step on the porch, it seemed that all the Port Aransas history had settled in this one place. Etched in the wooden walls were love, stories, songs, and vibes from local characters and famous visitors. It had a quietness that was sturdy and strong. We found out just what that’s means as Harvey blew through. Everything in town was tossed and twisted, but the Shack stood tall. The Gulf water flooded through the floor and rain penetrates the roof. But the bones of the little cabin dried with the sun. Volunteers helped clear the RVs, gulf carts and boats that littered the property. It was months of cleaning, painting and updating. On the property, most of the pines washed over and had to be removed. We saved what we could. Inspired by the Shack’s toughness, we decided to reclaim other tossed about items. Pallets for fencing, recycled wood, chairs and displays. If the Shack made it through Harvey, there were more things that could too. There’s an energy in everything. We believe that the Shack is here to help us, inspire us and give us a space to relax, heal and rediscover the best parts of ourselves. We stock the store with wares from local artists and other small business owners. It’s not the most inexpensive things, but they were all crafted with love. We support children, animals and environmental charities with our daily practices and pocketbooks. We believe that as we support them, we support and nourish ourselves. We hope you enjoy your time here.

Sandra says:
Island Outfitters were super accommodating and made the golf cart rental experience simple and easy. Just what you need on vacation! And this was even after I got the reservation dates wrong and wouldn’t have gotten the golf cart until the second day of our trip. But I called Island Outfitters just before they closed and asked if there was any way I could get a cart that day. Island Outfitters came through with flying colors and delivered the cart to our rental home within 30 mins with a full tank of gas and ready to go! Thank you Island Outfitters! It made our trips to the beach so much more convenient and fun!
Two thumbs up for Island Outfitters!
