I really love sharing real, relatable content for my pregnant mamas. Umbilical cord & movement👶
It’s very common to see the umbilical cord near or even wrapped around baby’s neck… sometimes once, occasionally twice. While it can sound scary, this is usually normal. Babies move constantly in the womb and the cord moves around with them. Please remember what we see on an ultrasound is just a snapshot of that time, not a permanent position of what goes on day to day. This is why providers may not be concerned even if it’s mentioned after an elective scan with us.
What’s important:
✔️ Do your daily kick counts
✔️ Pay attention to baby’s normal movements
✔️ Trust your instincts- ALWAYS🗣️

For extra peace of mind, some parents choose to use a home heartbeat doppler. But if you ever need reassurance, we can do a heartbeat/reassurance scan at any time for you❤️

& as always, if you’re ever worried about baby’s movement… contact your provider.
