ATTENTION!!!
I need a caregiver for every Friday and Sunday 4p-10p and every other Saturday 10a-10p. Plus filling in some. I'm the patient. I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy type one. It's like ALS but in babies, and it doesn't effect the mind. Type 1 is the worst kind and my older sister died from it at 6 months old. I was diagnosed at 6 months old and the doctors told my parents to take me home and love me because I didn't have much time. But God in His goodness had a different plan for me, and I'll be 33 next month! I have full feeling, but can't move. I'm also ventilator dependent and have a g-tube, but I do eat by mouth. I love Jesus Christ, and that is the foundation of who I am. You don't have to agree, just respect that. I literally can't do anything for myself. I control my tablet, cell phone, TV, and wheelchair using advanced eye gaze technology. You would be trained in how to take care of me, but you'll be responsible for administering medications via feeding tube, bathing, dressing, doing trach care, transferring me from my bed to the toilet to the shower sometimes to my wheelchair using a hoyer lift, mouth and trach suctioning as needed, preparing meals and feeding me pureed food. I have a sweet female yorkipoo named Darla who is my world, and I'll need help feeding her, letting her go outside, petting her, ect.. I love making things, from recipes to crafts. I love all things beauty, including makeup and nails, so I might need help with them but don't worry, I'm a good teacher 😉. I go out sometimes, especially in the summer, in my wheelchair van. I honestly just love life and try to make the most of it when I'm feeling good. I have thrown a lot of information at you and I'm going to be honest, the job can seem very intimidating at first. But if you are willing to learn, I will teach you everything you need to know. I'd like us to be friends, because I can tell when someone is only here for the money and that makes me very sad. I have joy in my heart and for the most part am a very happy person. I'd love to have someone who doesn't dread coming to take care of me. Training pays $15, and base pay with no experience is $20/hr with possible increase within 90 days. Let's have fun together! What do you say? DM me!
