Good morning, KPL families!

At Kaleidoscope Play & Learn with First Step this week, the theme is “Chimpanzees”! 🐵❤️

In memory of Jane Goodall❤️, we will learn about chimpanzees and other animals. They may look like monkeys, but they are not… what are the differences? Where do they live? We will read books, discuss, and make chimpanzee puppets!

🧸Sequim: Monday (today!) 12:30-2pm @ Olympic Peninsula YMCA Sequim (no membership needed)

🧸Forks: Tuesday 11am-12:30pm @ Forks-First Step Family Resource Center

🧸Port Angeles: Wednesday 10-11:30am @ First Step Family Support Center Classroom (in the main building... please follow the sign!)

🧸Port Townsend: Thursday 1:30-3pm @ Jefferson County Recreation Center

🧸Port Hadlock: Friday 10-11:30am @ Jefferson County Library District, Port Hadlock

EJFR will be holding a Community Child Car Seat Clinic on Friday, September 26th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Station 6 in Chimacum.

This is an opportunity to have your child’s (or grandchild's) car seat professionally checked and installed by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Child safety seats are required by law in Washington because they provide the best protection for infants and young children. However, correctly installing a child safety seat can be challenging, especially with the wide variety of restraint systems, vehicle belt systems, and passenger vehicles in use today.

Bring your new car seat (with instructions), your vehicle's owners manual, and your child (of course expectant mothers are welcome).

At Kaleidoscope Play & Learn with First Step this week, we will talk like pirates!

This Friday, September 19th is a International “Talk Like a Pirate Day”! Let’s discuss how parates talk, dress, what they eat, where they live, etc. We will make our own pirate hats using crayons, stickers, feathers, etc. for crafts, and pretend we are pirates! Arg!
