📣 Michigan Cottage Food Law has changed. We know many of you have questions.
We’ve reached out to MDARD and the MSU Product Center to get clear guidance on registration, online sales, delivery, and two-way communication requirements. As soon as we receive official information, we’ll share it. Answers coming soon.
🗓️ HB 4122 takes effect January 1
🛒 Online & mail-order sales are now allowed
➡️ Orders may be placed online or by mail
🚚 Delivery is now allowed
➡️ Including third-party delivery
➡️ Michigan customers only
🗣️ New requirement for online & delivery sales
➡️ Producers must offer an opportunity to directly interact with the customer before the product is sold
🎥 That interaction must be:
➡️ Face-to-face or
➡️ A virtual meeting with real two-i)
💰 Sales caps increased
➡️ $50,000 annual gross sales
➡️ Up to $75,000 if products are priced at $250 or more per unit
