These new laws will help ensure that death certificates are available to grieving families as soon as possible. We are proud members of the Michigan Funeral Director's Association, which supported the legislation and informed our state leaders on the importance of these much needed changes.
Since a death certificate filed with the county clerk and medical examiner approval is required before cremation can take place; ensuring that the medical portions are signed and completed accurately and quickly is imperative as families plan services and memorialization.
