For over 26 years New York Therapy Placement Services, Inc. has been a local provider of services for families in our community. We are dedicated to giving focused treatment in a safe, energetic and caring environment. NYTKids, our Speech-Language Center & Sensory Gym located in Port Jefferson Station offers state-of-the- art equipment and professional staff to ensure that families receive individualized attention. Our highly trained clinicians specialize in evaluating and treating for:

As part of our ongoing initiative to create a more inclusive environment, we have partnered with
The Power of Speech to design a custom communication board for our NYT Kids Pediatric Therapy Center playground.

For those who may not be familiar, communication boards use symbols and pictures to help children express their wants, needs, feelings, and ideas and give every child a way to communicate during play, regardless of their verbal abilities.

This board will support children of all abilities by giving them a voice and a way to communicate during play. While it may not be peak playground season, we’re excited to have it installed soon so we can begin offering children the opportunity to use it right away.

To further support accessibility beyond the playground, we’ve also created small, portable versions of the communication board for all staff lanyards, ensuring that communication supports are always readily available across settings throughout the clinic.

We can’t wait to see the meaningful interactions, increased independence, and improved accessibility this brings to our space!
